SIRI
What does it mean?
SIRI (Styrelsen for International Rekruttering og Integration) is the Danish authority that decides on work and residence permits for most citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland and the Nordic region.
SIRI administers the different work schemes, such as the Pay Limit Scheme, the Positive Lists, the Fast-track scheme for certified companies, and schemes for researchers, PhD students and trainees. Each scheme has its own conditions.
You apply through nyidanmark.dk, where you also find the current requirements, fees and expected processing times. Often both you and your employer complete parts of the application.
Only SIRI can decide whether you get a permit. Websites, recruitment agencies and AI tools — including Lena, the Arbejd.com AI advisor — can help you understand the schemes and prepare, but cannot promise an outcome.
EU/EEA and Nordic citizens do not apply for a work permit from SIRI, but EU/EEA citizens must register and get a registration certificate.
