Tax card
What does it mean?
Tax card (skattekort) contains your withholding rate (trækprocent) and monthly deduction (fradrag) used by employer payroll to deduct A-skat. Order main card (hovedkort) for primary job and secondary (bikort) for side jobs.
Update tax card when changing jobs, salary level, commute deduction or personal situation — via skat.dk TastSelv. Wrong card causes under/over withholding and tax bill or refund at year-end.
AM-bidrag (8%) is deducted before tax regardless of card. Pension contributions may reduce taxable base depending on setup.
New employees must provide tax card information before first payroll — employer cannot guess rates.
