A job alert (in Danish: jobagent) is a saved job search that works for you: it watches for new job postings that match your criteria, so you do not have to search every day. On Arbejd.com new jobs are collected under Job agents.
Job alerts in Denmark: get new jobs that match you
How to set up a free job alert: choose occupation, keywords, city and distance, working hours and job type — and get new jobs in Denmark in one place.
Step-by-step guide
- 1
Create a free profile
Job alerts belong to your profile, so they can remember your criteria and show you new jobs you have not seen. Creating a profile takes a few minutes. If you also add your experience, job matches and suggestions become more precise.
- 2
Choose one or more occupations
Search for the occupation you want to work in — for example «software developer», «warehouse worker» or «nurse» — and add related occupations too. An alert needs at least one occupation. Occupations are based on the European ESCO classification, so the alert finds jobs even when employers use different titles for the same role.
- 3
Add keywords if you want to be more precise
The search text looks inside the job posting for a tool, a field or a language («React», «forklift», «English»). All the words must appear in the posting, so use few, precise words: the more words, the fewer jobs. Start without keywords and add one if you get too many results.
- 4
Choose a place and maximum distance
Enter a city or postcode and choose how far you are willing to commute. If you leave the place empty, the address on your profile is used. The distance is measured in a straight line, so set it a little higher if you live near water or use public transport. If you want to work from home, choose remote or hybrid.
- 5
Choose working hours and job type
Choose full-time, part-time or both (for part-time, optionally hours per week). If you choose no working hours, you get both. Pay attention to the job type: by default the alert shows permanent positions, so if you also want temporary jobs or student jobs, you need to select them.
- 6
Create several alerts instead of one broad one
Give each alert a name, for example «Software developer Copenhagen» and «Student job Aarhus». It is easier to see which jobs come from which search, and you can edit or delete one alert without touching the others.
- 7
Act quickly on new jobs
Many positions are filled before the deadline because employers interview on a rolling basis. Check your new matches a couple of times a week and apply for the relevant ones straight away. Arbejd.com can help you write a targeted application and tailor your CV for each job.

Frequently asked questions
No. Job alerts are free on Arbejd.com. You only need to create a profile.
You can create several job alerts, each with its own name and criteria, for example one per job type or area. You can edit or delete them at any time under Job agents.
Usually the criteria are too narrow: too many keywords, a short distance or too narrow an occupation. Remove keywords first, increase the distance and add related occupations. If you are looking for temporary or student jobs, make sure you have selected them as job type. Also check that the place is right.
Add one or two precise keywords, lower the distance, or select only the job types and working hours you actually want. Splitting one broad alert into several smaller ones also helps.
The alert searches all active jobs on Arbejd.com — both jobs that companies post directly and jobs from Jobnet and other sources that we collect. You can see the same jobs on the job pages, for example by job type, city or employment type.
Go to Job agents, open the alert and choose «Delete job agent». Your other alerts keep running as before.
