A LITTLE ABOUT THE CLIENT

The client is a young woman living in her own apartment at a care center in the district of Trøjborg. She is autistic and has no language, but she communicates with a little bit of facial expression and sounds. She has a tracheostomy, sits in a powered wheelchair and needs help with everything.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a social- and health care helper or a social- and health care assistant for a position of 34-36 hours per week. The position consists of day shifts.

Your work involves making as good a day as possible for the young woman. You will be responsible for her respiratory monitoring. Furthermore you will handle all assistance, from getting up, putting on clothes, all personal care, giving tube feed, laying her in bed, and turning her in bed, among other tasks. There are a number of activities at the care center, and you accompany the client to the activities she wishes to participate in.

You must enjoy a quiet and calm everyday life, as almost everything takes place at the care center. There may be some activities outside the care center, but not many.

The shifts are 12-hour shifts from 07:00-19:00, and they run on a fixed 8-week rotation. There can, however, be waking night shifts in the period 19:00-07:00, as you are employed in a self-supplementing team that covers illnesses, vacations, etc. in the fixed team year-round. It is therefore important that you can participate in both shift teams.

You will, as a social- and health care helper or social- and health care assistant, be part of a good, flexible and necessary team of disability helpers who together cover all shifts year round.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Trained as a social- and health care helper or social- and health care assistant
• Experience with autism would be an advantage
• Flexible
• Practical
• Non-smoker
• Have respect and understanding for working in a private home

• Part-time: 34-36 hours per week (to be agreed upon at employment)
