Åbyhøj day care, the Nursery department at the Apple Tree, is seeking a pedagogical assistant in a fixed-term appointment from 9 November 2026. The position is 37 hours per week or as agreed. We expect that it will be at least six months ahead.

About the department

We are a department with 39 children divided into three groups with 4 staff in each.

In our pedagogical practice we prioritize giving the child a good start in life; we value the clear adult who can create calm and security. We work with learning environments all day, where play is the central element based on curriculum themes. We focus on motor skills, music, dialogic reading and creativity. Children can be divided into both larger and smaller groups according to the child’s development level and interests. It is important that all children are seen, understood and respected – with the needs and resources the child has.

We expect that you

• support the preschool teachers in solving daily pedagogical work and practical tasks
• are appreciative in your approach to the children and the pedagogical work
• are keen to learn and receive guidance and can ask for help
• take responsibility for the practical work, can work independently and have a good overview when it is busy
• have the "yes hat" on, can see the important in the small things, and can see the value in everyday repetitions
• are engaged and welcoming
• can accommodate the differences of children and adults
• want to play

Åbyhøj Daycare consists of six departments in total: four kindergartens, one kindergarten department and one nursery department. We have a work culture where we trust, build relationships, share resources and think new.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Final salary determination takes place after negotiations with the bargaining-empowered professional organization, based on qualifications.
