About the job

Are you passionate about making a difference?

Then you have the opportunity here to become part of a competent, ambitious, visionary and informal leadership team at Ellebjerg School in the heart of Sydhavnen.

Ellebjerg is a school with a little more than 600 students and almost 100 staff in total. The school is located in the old Sydhavnen district, and our wonderful students reflect the diversity of Sydhavnen.

We have a good and active collaboration with the district's institutions and cultural actors. The collaboration is characterized by mutual trust and respect, and we place a high value on being an open school in close contact with local environments and opportunities.

Ellebjerg School's staff are distributed across KKFO and three school divisions (early years 0.-3. grade, middle years 4.-6. grade and upper years 7.-9. grade) with a 10th grade team.

We have fantastic outdoor areas and our own school garden, and outdoor activities and movement are part of the daily life of the school.

We have a close parent collaboration with four parent-teacher conferences per year, we are one of UNICEF’s rights schools, and our core values are professionalism, imagination and community.

We have gained a good reputation in the local area, and our everyday life is characterized by a trusting and engaged collaboration between management, staff and parents.

Our deputy principal must be able to see themselves as the driving force in continuing to develop this positive progress – also in practice.

In the early years we have redesigned teaching to a more theme- and project-oriented approach. In this context, it is important that you can exercise an appreciative pedagogical leadership and sparring and lead the continuing development together with the staff in the early years.

Another focus area is the transition and collaboration between the early years and KKFO.

Our educational approach is, both in KKFO and at the school, based on Ross Greenes’ view of children and Louise Klinges’ ideas about relational competence, and the school has participated in a two-year professional development program related to relational competence.

A close collaboration between staff and management is highly valued, and we believe that the best solutions are found in common effort and contribute to a good working environment. Therefore, we prioritize community and democratic and inclusive processes.

We expect that you

  • are a qualified teacher with solid knowledge of the public school system
  • want to join a leadership team where collaboration, equality, humor and dialogue are in focus, and where we use each other’s strengths in a collective
  • are a strong and clear communicator both spoken and written
  • have the courage to lead the pedagogical development of our early years in close cooperation with staff and the overall leadership team
  • can work with parental influence as a strength
  • have inclusion as the guiding star in your pedagogical thinking
  • are inclusive and welcoming in your approach to students and parents
  • manage to navigate constructively, structurally and with engagement in a complex everyday life
  • take pride in doing your job well and are willing to work long hours when needed
  • are flexible regarding task distribution in the leadership team and appreciate good and close collaboration.

We offer you

  • a school with high ceilings, where we help and support each other
  • An exciting and development-oriented job with a committed staff who are passionate about giving the students a solid foundation in life
  • the opportunity for great influence on the school's development
  • a leadership team where integrity, helpfulness and creativity are highly valued, and where we make things succeed together
  • good collaboration with kindergartens, KKFO, clubs, parents and an engaged school board
  • good physical premises with diverse opportunities for developing an exciting and innovative environment.

If you can see yourself in the above, please send us an application.
