At Guderup Residential Care Center you will become part of Sønderborg Municipality's largest dementia specialty. Here, dedicated colleagues work closely together to create safe evenings and quality of life for our residents. About the position

You will become part of Sønderborg Municipality's largest dementia specialty unit, where 56 residents have their home.

At Guderup Residential Care Center you are never alone. We help each other across departments, and it is completely natural to both ask for help and offer it. Therefore many experience that the sense of community among colleagues is one of the best things about working here.

As an evening shift, you work closely with a fixed teammate on the department. You start the evening with a plan, but also know that people with dementia do not always follow it. What worked yesterday may not work today. Therefore it is important that you talk to each other, help each other and continuously adapt to the people you are with.

While many activities take place during the day, the evenings make room for something else. Here there is often more time to, for example, take a walk with the resident who needs calm, or to succeed with something that could not be achieved earlier in the day.

It is also during the evening shift that residents get through the last hours of the day. You help them to settle down and go to bed well. It requires presence and the ability to understand what each resident needs on that particular evening.

As an evening shift you and your colleague have the freedom to use your professional skills and take responsibility for the decisions that make sense in the situation. We believe in trust-based leadership, and although management is not physically present for the entire evening, there is always an opportunity for sparring and support when you need it.

Competences – who are we looking for?

We are looking for a colleague who has a relevant health professional education as a social and health care helper, social and health care assistant or similar.

In addition, it is important that you

• thrive in close collaboration with colleagues and actively contribute to the community/team
• communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, relatives and colleagues
• bring your professional skills into play and are curious about people with dementia
• meet others with calm in both speech and body language and can create security in situations where things do not always go as planned

Experience with dementia is an advantage, but the most important is that you want to work with people living with a dementia disease, and that you wish to develop yourself in the area.

Salary and employment terms

This is a permanent evening-shift position of 37 hours per week. If you would like a different number of hours, we would also like to hear from you.

The position includes weekend shifts every second weekend or in a rotation with four weekends over 12 weeks.

Salary and employment terms are set according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local pay formation.

Start date as soon as possible or by agreement.
