About the job
Do you want to work in a specialty where you are professionally challenged, come close to your patients and become part of a strong collegial community? Become a social and health care assistant in hematology – here there is learning, development and togetherness
With us you will meet patients with very different needs – from the acutely ill patient to patients you get to know well through long and complex treatment courses. It demands your professionalism but also gives you the opportunity to develop yourself and make a noticeable difference for patients and their families.
And you don’t need to be an expert in hematology when you start with us. The most important thing is that you are curious, eager to learn and want to be part of our community. We will ensure that you receive a thorough introduction that fits your experience.
A specialty you can grow in
The Ward for Blood Diseases treats hematological patients from the western catchment area in Region Central Jutland. We have 17 beds and meet patients in all stages of their disease and treatment. Many courses are long and complex, and therefore you will have the opportunity to use your professional skills broadly and build close relationships with patients and their families. We also receive general medical patients from the Emergency Department.
We work closely with the Department of Blood Diseases to create good, coherent and safe patient pathways across wards and clinics. We also have an active clinical research unit that works with national and international studies to test new treatments. You will therefore become part of a specialty in constant development.
You can look forward to
- A thorough introduction to the hematology specialty tailored to your experience.
- An exciting specialty with great variation and complex patient pathways.
- Competence development so you master skills such as medication administration, including certain types of IV antibiotics, blood transfusion, ward rounds and placement of a peripheral venous catheter (PVK).
- Broad experience in nursing for both chronic and acute patient pathways, as well as palliative and terminal care.
- High professionalism in an interdisciplinary team with competent and engaged colleagues who are passionate about nursing hematology patients.
- A good working environment characterized by responsibility, professional sparring, openness, collegial care and humor.
Perhaps you are our new colleague?
You are trained as a social and health care assistant; you may be newly educated or have experience. The most important for us is not how long you have been a social and health care assistant, but how you approach the task.
We would like you to
- Thrive in an environment where two days are never the same, and where you can continually develop your skills.
- Meet patients, relatives and colleagues with openness and integrity.
- Be reliable and have a high work ethic.
- Take responsibility and actively contribute to the community.
- Be curious, positive and welcoming.
- Be passionate about jointly safeguarding and cultivating a good working environment.
- Value accountability and see strength in working in a cross-disciplinary team.
