Alpedalen at Skovvang seeks social- and health care assistants with an interest in dementia in evening and day shifts

Now you have the chance to become part of our team at Alpedalen. We are looking for social and health helpers primarily for day and evening shifts.

You are professionally capable and have a heart in the right place. You will help create the best possible framework for a good everyday life for our residents at Special Care Home Skovvang.

Whether you are newly graduated or have many years of experience is not the most important for us. For us it is more important that you are passionate about becoming part of the already skilled team of multidisciplinary staff we have at Alpedalen. We go to work because we love it, and because we have an obligation to our residents, their families, friends and each other. We are flexible, both in how we solve tasks and where/how we solve them.

Skovvang comprises a total of 125 housing units – 105 special housing units of which 27 are at Alpedalen, 20 short-term housing for relief and assessment and a special day center. In addition, there is a supply kitchen and laundry. We have a large shared garden where residents and their families and friends and all staff enjoy good moments.

We would like to point out that the positions are within the around-the-clock area. At present, the service is expected to be mainly day and evening shifts.

Your profile

We are looking for a social and health helper who finds dementia interesting and wants to contribute to creating a good life for citizens with dementia. You must also be aware of your own body language, and how you communicate to your surroundings – this is important when working with people with dementia.

You will be well prepared when you start with us. We have a longer introduction program than other places, because we focus on dementia. Your colleagues are specialized in the topic and are ready to teach. You will therefore gain strong competencies in dementia – both theoretical and practical. There will also be teaching in person-centered care, and together with your colleagues you will receive supervision from Skovvang's psychologist.

About us

Special Care Home Skovvang is located in northern Aarhus. We have a total of 125 dwellings, of which one is a special day center, 105 are special housing, and 20 are short-term housing for relief and assessment. All departments have access to our shared garden with path systems that allow our residents to go for walks in a safe environment.

You are offered a place at Skovvang if, due to a dementia, you have certain challenges or needs that prevent you from living at the municipality's other nursing homes. Our staff are specialized in working with residents with dementia, and our home is built dementia-friendly based on research and experience.

Salary and employment terms

The position is desired to be commenced on 01.12.2026 or by agreement.

Salary and employment terms according to applicable collective agreement and after concrete negotiation with the union representing the employees.

Weekly hours: 37 hours
