About the job

Do you dream of educating and supporting students to create the best possible life for themselves in a diverse and democratic society? Then we are the right school for you.

The School on Amagerbro (SPA)

We are seeking a skilled Danish teacher with English and PE for the primary years with strengths in classroom management and communication. If you have a mentoring/leadership qualification, that would be a plus.

At our school we work in teams, where teachers and pedagogues collaborate on the core task. The already existing team looks forward to welcoming you, building a professional learning community, and giving the students the best opportunities to develop academically and socially.

With us you will become part of an uplifting collaboration team in an affirming and inclusive learning environment. Here the focus is on classroom management and a sharp eye for the subjects and their didactics. We are organized in year-group teams, where we continually work on developing good professional learning communities. We are already a school with a strong “open school” profile, where we also work in an investigative and experimental manner in teaching, and we have worked with PBL for several weeks in this school year.

In the school year 26/27 we will continue with

  • Working systematically with interventions that ensure participation opportunities for all our students
  • A language-focused effort in all subjects aimed at raising the overall quality of teaching

We believe that students’ motivation and development have the most favorable conditions if they are given the opportunity to be active, collaborative, creative, innovative, and to have a say in their learning process. We celebrate a playful approach in teaching and place high importance on collaborating with external partners (companies, cultural institutions, interest organizations, etc.) to broaden the children’s understanding of the world and to bring authenticity into their learning.

With us, all children should experience that they can succeed at their level, so everyone leaves with successes. Our student group is diverse – and so is the staff group, and we are proud and happy about that.

Diversity, happy children and wonderful colleagues

Trust and collaboration shape our daily life at SPA, where you will find open doors with both colleagues and management. The mood is high, we lift together, and the engagement is large. There is a strong emphasis on upskilling and professional development, where your personal and professional development is in focus. We have a good work and teaching environment with skilled and helpful colleagues and students. We give you time and provide a proper introduction to the workplace and your new team.

We are seeking a colleague who

  • Is ambitious for the students, the school, and themselves
  • Is passionate about creating progression in students’ learning and development
  • Has a positive, recognizing, and inclusive approach
  • Contributes to close collegial collaboration in professional learning communities

Employment terms

The position is full-time with earliest possible start or no later than 1 December 2026. Salary and terms of employment follow the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. We will obtain child and criminal background checks as well as references from previous employments in connection with the hire.
