Ambulance clinician or paramedic sought for a permanent position at the Frederikshavn ambulance base – The Pre-Hospital Service – North Denmark Region

Do you want to work as an ambulance responder or ambulance paramedic at a socially well-functioning station with a relatively high activity level? We are currently seeking a new colleague for an efficient DADN shift in Frederikshavn.

Brief about the core task

Your primary task will be to treat and transport patients in need of care and security in a difficult, and often critical, situation. With your professional expertise, you must ensure the best possible treatment for the patient and provide a thorough handover to the healthcare staff at the hospital.

In addition, you should, in collaboration with your colleagues, contribute to the Prehospital Service being an attractive and professional workplace where we take care of each other and carry out the practical tasks at the base collectively.

Who are you?

We are looking for a colleague who, with a trustful and empathetic personality, can create calm and security in the patient care area. You should want to work with people, be reliable, and be able to operate in both Danish and English, as there are many tourists in Vendsyssel during the summer months.

Furthermore, it is important to us that you function well together with us, your colleagues, and are keen to participate in the social and collegial community.

You must have a valid authorization as an ambulance responder or paramedic, as well as a category C driving license.

Who are we?

We are a purely efficient base, housed in modern bright premises with the Nordjyllands Emergency Services in Frederikshavn. We have the highest activity level in Vendsyssel East, which is also reflected in the number of ambulances and tasks. We have days with plenty to do, and days with time for collegial socializing.

We are currently 21 permanently employed ambulance responders and paramedics, as well as 6 trainees. The staff is a wonderful mix of women and men, younger and older, and the collegial togetherness is very strong. We also have a very good relationship with our colleagues at Nordjyllands Beredskab, with whom we arrange several social events during the year.

We run an efficient DADN standby system that spans 11 days – and many of us think it is the best shift pattern we have ever had! The shift pattern’s varying meeting and going-home times provide diverse working days and a relatively limited number of night shifts. We also have a positive approach to shift swapping.

The area leader is close

Your area leader has an office in Frederikshavn, but prioritizes close leadership, and therefore comes to visit the other bases regularly.

You will report to the area leader in daily work. Health-related matters you will report to the medical director.

Development opportunities for the individual

Whether you want to participate in various health professional courses, contribute to quality assurance, use your skills to teach colleagues and students, or eventually pursue paramedic training, you have a great deal of influence yourself. For us it is important that you like going to work, and we see great value in employees exploring different branches of the organization during their careers.

Therefore we also offer the possibility to join the ambulance vehicle scheme or switch to the unit for doctor- and paramedic cars – when the need arises.

We offer salary and terms of employment in accordance with the current agreement with FOA for ambulance-trained personnel.
