- 24/7 Area Co-ordinator - Main station: Haderslev + Substations: Skærbæk, Tønder, Løgumkloster
- 24/7 Area Co-ordinator – Main station: Haderslev + Substations: Vojens, Toftlund, Løgumkloster
When you send your application, you will have the opportunity to tick and choose which of the area coordinator positions you are interested in.
The daily life as an area coordinator in Southern Jutland
As an area coordinator in Southern Jutland you become a central part of the local health service across several stations, both large and small, and you will have ample opportunity to use your full professional scope.
You will be attached to four stations , of which one is your base as the “home station”. You are assigned shifts and are a fixed part of the activities at these four stations. That means you will experience:
- stations with shorter distances to the nearest hospital and other resources
- stations where the distance to the nearest hospital and ambulance may be long, and where you stand with the patient for a longer period
Across the stations you help ensure a fast, cohesive and professional prehospital response in the entire region. Together with your colleagues:
- you raise the bar with pride and high professionalism
- you actively participate in the prehospital decisions and create security for the citizens
- you help create well-functioning patient pathways
You work in close, interdisciplinary collaboration with local doctors, municipal home care and nursing homes and you clearly experience that together you make a real difference for both citizens and the health system.
Regardless of whether you are at a larger or a smaller station, you are not alone, neither professionally nor collegially. The stations are characterized by:
- a strong collegial community and close partnership
- a culture where everyone pulls together, helps each other swap shifts and makes everyday life hang together
- leaders who are present, and where you are seen, heard and involved in the development of both the stations and the prehospital effort
As an area coordinator there are good opportunities for work‑life balance and a flexible working life, where there is room for both an active work life and a well-functioning private life.
This is a job for you who desires professional challenges , are motivated by camaraderie and unity and want to take responsibility , think in solutions and be a proud participant in the prehospital effort in Southern Jutland.
Working at Ambulance South
When you start at Ambulance South, you become part of a community where you are seen, heard and taken seriously, professionally as well as humanly.
In everyday life you will encounter a high degree of involvement. We work systematically with employee committees, where you can influence everything from vehicles and equipment to uniforms and workflows. Your experience and your ideas help shape the way we solve tasks.
Management is close to your daily life. We have a flat management structure where visibility and accessibility are high priorities. We talk to each other at eye level, and the task is solved in joint effort, regardless of title and function.
Professionalism is the focal point of our work. You get access to a well-developed training system with differentiated teaching, supplementary training days and instructors who stand ready for sparring. The goal is that both paramedics and emergency medical technicians can deliver the best possible, professional and caring prehospital care.
As a new colleague you will also feel that we value a strong collegial togetherness. We actively work with initiatives such as DUSA (“You are not alone”) to ensure a good psychological work environment. That means we support each other, both in demanding situations and in the small breaks in daily life.
Our work community is built on the values pride, unity, trust and foresight. In practice this means that we are proud of our profession, we pull in unison, we trust each other’s judgment, and we are curious about new ways to help citizens quickly, wisely and coherently, always putting the citizen first.
We offer a work environment where you can make a real difference – every day. Here you will be heard, seen and valued!
Our administration in Odense shares an address with the AMK Emergency Dispatch Center and is therefore in close collaboration with colleagues at AMK, on a daily basis. Here we use, among other things, our employees’ good input to optimize the collaboration and gain a better understanding of each other’s tasks. This has resulted, among other things, in us employing several rescuers in combination positions with AMK, so that we can play to each other even better - for the benefit of us and the patients.
A flexible working life
As an ambulance rescuer in Prehospital South there must be room for both work and life outside of work. Therefore we have created The Freedom Portal, our internal “freedom- and shift-swapping center” for our rescuers.
Via The Freedom Portal you as a rescuer can get help when you need time off or to have a shift moved. You submit a request, and the planners continue to work to find a solution.
This means more flexible shift schedules and the possibility to take time off for example family life or important events without compromising operations.
“We really have a good opportunity to help each other.
We work in a more flexible planning universe, where we can drop the fixed rolls and tailor the work life to fit well with private life.
At the same time we have the opportunity in Operations to reallocate resources to days where we are challenged. It becomes a collaboration between rescuers and planners, which ultimately benefits everyone – including the patients.
So far it has been a huge success – we only get positive feedback, and it is extremely satisfying to be able to help rescuers with freedom where they really need it.
It generates many happy emails in return! We have to date from January 1 reallocated or given time off for around 2,000 shifts.”
Anja, Shift Planner
You may be newly educated or have +30 years of experience.
The most important thing for us is that you are proud of your profession, want to work to give each patient you meet a good experience, and want to be part of a unique community. You are a team player who contributes positively to the team – even on busy shifts.
And you can of course document
- a certified education as ambulance attendant or paramedic
- a child’s certificate and a criminal record check compatible with the job as an ambulance rescuer
- valid driver’s license for at least category B and C
Can you see yourself with us?
