About the job

Would you like to help strengthen municipalities' governance of the specialized social area? Do you have a strong analytic profile, and can you translate data and complex problems into clear decision bases and actions? Then you might be our new colleague in KL's Economic Secretariat.

The specialized social area is one of the municipalities' biggest governance challenges. Expenditures are evolving, citizens' needs are complex, and municipalities must continually make difficult priorities in an area with great importance for both the individual citizen and the overall municipal economy. It places high demands on the coherence between professional effort, economy, capacity and results.

We are looking for a colleague who will work closely with colleagues in the office, the professional offices in KL and, in particular, with the municipalities to develop governance and create a better basis for political and managerial decisions. You must be able to master large data sets and analyses to identify patterns, explain drivers and point to concrete courses of action. As well as translate what the results mean in practice so they can lead to prioritization, change and action. It is therefore an advantage if you have knowledge of municipal practice.

Your everyday

KL's Economic Secretariat works with municipalities' economic, governance and managerial agendas. In this position you will have a special focus on the specialized social area and on developing knowledge and solutions that can strengthen municipalities' governance across economy, professional considerations and citizens' needs.

You will play a central role in close collaboration with colleagues, KL's professional offices and the municipalities. You will identify governance challenges, develop and produce relevant analyses and create decision bases that can be used by both administrative and political leadership. You must be able to move confidently from data and method to interpretation and recommendations - and be concerned with how new knowledge is applied and makes a difference in municipalities' practice.

Your tasks will include the following

  • Analyze developments in the specialized social area with a strong command of data, method and complex issues and identify the most important economic and governance drivers
  • Work closely with colleagues in the office and municipalities to uncover challenges, needs and opportunities for stronger governance - with an eye to the interaction between professional considerations, economy and municipal decision-making processes
  • Develop databased analyses, management information and decision bases that support municipal priorities
  • Translate professional knowledge and analysis results into clear conclusions, recommendations and concrete actions that can strengthen municipalities' governance and prioritization
  • Facilitate professional and strategic discussions with municipalities and partners, build collaboration and challenge constructively so you create a common direction and forward movement
  • Communicate complex relationships clearly and purposefully so they are understandable, relevant and usable for professional, administrative and political target groups
  • Take independent responsibility for driving your own tasks and processes forward and contribute ideas for new activities and solutions
  • Be part of a varied daily life with diverse tasks and close dialogue with the country’s municipalities and other relevant actors - both in and outside the office, e.g. during municipal visits and conferences

We are looking for a strong analytic profile who can translate knowledge into action

We imagine that you have a relevant social science education, e.g. cand.scient.pol., cand.polit., cand.scient.adm. or similar, and preferably 2-3 years of relevant experience from a municipality, a consultancy, a interests organization or central administration. You do not need to know all parts of the specialized social area in advance, but you should be keen to understand the area’s dynamics and contribute to developing governance together with the municipalities.

An engaged office with high professional standards and real influence

You will become part of a strong professional environment where ambitions are high, and where you will have the opportunity to work with agendas that matter for the entire municipal sector. We offer a challenging and varied job with great opportunity to shape your own tasks and set direction in collaboration with capable colleagues.

Our way of working is characterized by sparring, teamwork and a strong shared commitment to the municipal agendas. The tone is informal, collaboration close, and there is room for both professional discussions and good collegiality in a fast-paced daily life.

We offer an exciting job in one of Denmark's largest interest organizations, where you get the opportunity to work closely with development, decision-making processes and municipal priorities - and where you can develop both professionally and personally.
