About the job
Would you be the one to ensure users receive a stable and good IT service every day? As Application Manager in the Danish Business Authority in Esbjerg you are the system owner's right hand. You ensure our systems deliver what the business needs, and that new versions come safely and painlessly into operation.
About us
You will be placed in the Product Unit for Market Monitoring in the Business Authority's IT and Digital Innovation department. We are a digital authority that, using data-driven market monitoring and supervision, contributes to Denmark being an attractive country to do business in and a safe country for consumers.
The Product Unit for Market Monitoring consists of 5 teams and in total 25 colleagues. We are responsible for the IT support of the Business Authority's Market Monitoring department and handle development, operation and data governance of about 30 IT systems. Most of our developers are permanent employees and sit internally with us.
Your tasks
As Application Manager you are responsible that our IT systems deliver a good service to our users. You are the link between the system owner, the business, the developers and the operations. You translate the system owner's wishes and users' needs into concrete priorities and deliveries, and you ensure that they become reality.
You manage the system's well-being in the short term by handling errors, reviewing incidents and ensuring rapid restoration of operations, and in the long term by making roadmaps and helping the system owner with security assessments and other decision bases.
You work closely with the Product Owner, so that prioritizations in the backlog take into account both the system's stability and users' needs. You participate in development work daily, both in refinement, sprint planning and the development team's meetings. When new things are developed, you help facilitate user tests, and you ensure that our test portfolio covers what is important for the business and the users.
You will, among other things, come to
- Be the system owner's right hand and ensure that the system owner's wishes become concrete deliveries
- Ensure a good user experience and stable service by following up on how users experience the systems, and incorporate their input into prioritization
- Plan and coordinate releases and deploys with the business, including being responsible for RFCs, following them through approval and ensuring release notes so users know what changes for them
- Ensure that a release is tested and ready before it goes to pre-production and production, including full regression, user tests, smoke test after deploy and rollback if a release negatively affects the service
- Review incidents, including major incidents and hotfixes, keep an overview of environments and monitoring and communicate status to the business and users, so we detect problems before users do
- Be the team's technical voice in the backlog by giving the Product Owner a prioritized list of bugs, technical debt and maintenance, and create and maintain roadmaps for your systems
We emphasize that you
- Have experience with release management, application management or IT operations, preferably in a service-oriented organization
- Have business understanding and can understand how the systems are used in daily case processing
- Have technical understanding enough to understand our systems and guide colleagues in them
- Can prioritize based on impact, risk and value for users and the business, and argue clearly for your priorities
- Are structured and meticulous, even when busy, and keep focus on service even under pressure
- Can communicate clearly with both business, users and IT
- Know Jira and Confluence or similar tools
