Apprentices for Foundation Course 2 in Social and Health Care (SOSU) with subsequent Social and Health Care Assistant education

As of 18 January 2027 Odder Municipality is seeking students to start on Grundforløb 2 SOSU with subsequent social and health care assistant training.

You will receive an education contract from the start of Grundforløb 2. Salary during Grundforløb 2 and during the main course; if you are 25 years or older you will receive adult apprentice pay.

You will be employed as an apprentice at one of our three nursing homes: Bronzealdervej and Stenslund Centret in Health & Care Odder or the Friplejehjemmet Skovbakkehjemmet.

Requirements

• Be declared ready for education
• Have achieved an average grade of at least 2.0 in Danish and mathematics respectively at the 9th or 10th grade tests, or an equivalent result on a comparable test

If you are 25 years or older, your educational pathway will be tailored to your experience and your competencies. When you have applied for admission to SOSU Østjylland Aarhus via www.optagelse.dk you will have an interview with a guidance counselor, where a recognition of prior learning (RKV) assessment is carried out to determine how long your educational pathway should be.

About the training

You start the training on Grundforløb 2 SOSU on 18 January 2027 at the SOSU Østjylland department in Aarhus. Grundforløb 2 SOSU lasts 20 weeks, and since it is a theoretical course, you are not in apprenticeship during the Grundforløb.

After passing Grundforløb 2 you continue the main course to become a Social- and Health Care Assistant. The Social- and Health Care Assistant education alternates between theory and on-the-job training. All theory instruction takes place at SOSU Østjylland department Aarhus. Salary and terms of employment

You enter an education contract with Odder Municipality, employed at one of the nursing homes in Odder Municipality. Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the area. The trainee position is 37 hours per week with varying working hours. Employment is for a fixed period.

Employment in the Main Course is conditional on passing GF2.

Before final employment you must present a criminal record certificate and possibly valid residence and work permit.
