About the job

Do you have strong SSA professionalism?

And would you bring your authorized competencies into play in acute and complex citizen journeys?

Then you may be our new permanent substitute with weekend shifts or on-call from temporary municipal stay in the City of Copenhagen. We are looking for colleagues for day, evening, night and weekend shifts at two different locations: Hørgården in Amager (established department) and Haandværkerhaven in Emdrup (our newly established department).

You can be hired as a part-time permanent substitute

As a permanent substitute in part-time employment you are hired in a part-time position of up to 12 hours per week. The hours can be accumulated, so you may e.g. work fixed every 2nd or 3rd weekend or have fixed shifts during weekdays.

As on-call you are attached either to the department in Emdrup or in Amager or both places if you wish. As an on-call substitute we contact you continuously, e.g., when we get a sick leave or similar at the workplace. You are not guaranteed a certain number of hours, but you can say yes to all the hours offered.

Are you curious about temporary municipal stays?

Then drop by for an informal drop-in chat with us in Emdrup or on Amager. You do not need to have sent your application first – you can just come by, meet the center manager Emil Skatting Weyhe, see where we belong, and have a chat about the job and everyday life with us. In short: drop by and feel if we are something for you – completely non-committal. You can read more and time and place below.

About the departments

Our departments have a high citizen flow with an average of about seven-eight new citizens per week. The citizens typically stay with us for up to 28 days and are primarily +65 years old, who are either awaiting a permanent nursing home or have a need for a special, time-limited intervention and clinical assessment.

You will be part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of nurses, social and health care assistants, therapists as well as kitchen and cleaning staff. We set high professional demands, but also prioritize a strong and safe working environment with room for humor and community.

Your main tasks

  • Perform nursing care tasks of authorized scope in broad citizen journeys (from stable to acute and complex).
  • Use your clinical eye and act independently in a changing everyday life.
  • Ensure systematic and professional documentation in Cura.
  • Collaborate closely across disciplines and handle contact with relatives.

Who are you?

  • You are educated as a social- and health care assistant and stand firm in your professionalism.
  • You are curious, dare to ask questions and say yes if you are in doubt.
  • You have good communication skills and keep an overview.

Employment terms

We hope you can start as soon as possible after the application deadline. Your employment terms vary depending on whether you are hired as a permanent substitute with weekend shifts or on-call, but always according to the applicable collective agreement. We will obtain a criminal record and take references in connection with the hires.

If you have previously been employed by the City of Copenhagen, also

If you are considered for a position at a municipal unit, we will check whether you have been terminated or dismissed from the municipality within the last three years and share relevant information herewith the hiring leader.

It may also be information about criminal matters that have led to termination or dismissal from the City of Copenhagen, information about substance abuse such as a positive alcohol test or information about medical history that may have significant impact on a new employment in the municipality. This does not apply to employment at private nursing homes. Read more about reference checks here .
