About the job

We are looking for social and health care assistants for day shifts in District South

We could say that we are looking for an “engaged, caring and professionally capable SSH”.

But we would actually rather tell you what we hope you are keen to do

  • You like working closely with people.
  • You have an eye for each citizen's needs and wishes.
  • You enjoy making a difference – even in the small things.
  • You thrive with a daily routine where no two visits are the same.
  • You can work independently, but also know when it is good to ask a colleague for input.

Who are we?

We are Home Care and Nursing in Odsherred Municipality, District South, and right now we are looking for SSHs for day shifts .

With us you come close to the citizens. You meet them in their own home, where you not only solve a task, but become part of their everyday life.

For some citizens, your visit may be today’s first meeting with another person. For others, it is the help that enables them to continue handling everyday life at home.

It matters.

And that is exactly something we think is special about working as an SSH in home care.

Your workday, what does it involve?

As an SSH you help to make everyday life function for our citizens.

You will among other things

  • help citizens with personal care and practical tasks
  • support citizens to manage as much as possible themselves
  • work in a rehabilitative way and start from the citizen’s own resources
  • observe citizens’ well-being and changes in their condition
  • document your observations and actions
  • collaborate closely with SSAs, nurses, therapists and other professionals
  • help create safety, continuity and a good everyday life for the citizens

You will thus use both your professional skills and your human qualities. For home care is not only about what is on the driving lists. It is also about being able to see when a citizen is not quite themselves. About taking time for a little extra when the situation requires it. And about meeting people with respect for the life they lead.

Where do you report in?

Right now we start in Asnæs. From 1 October 2026 our check-in location will be Fårevejle.

So if you already have coffee with you from home, you might as well bring it on the journey.

Who will be your colleagues?

You will become part of a team where we help each other. Even though you will work very independently, you are not alone.

There is always someone to ask when you are in doubt. Someone to brainstorm with when a citizen’s situation changes. And someone to laugh with when the day has been a bit longer than expected. We believe we become better when we use each other’s professional skills and experiences.

Maybe it’s you we’re looking for?

  • Maybe you are the SSH who meets citizens with calm, respect and a smile.
  • Maybe you are good at creating security for people who need your help.
  • Maybe you are the type who can take responsibility yourself and raise your hand when you need help.
  • You don’t need to know everything from day one.
  • But you should be keen to be part of the community, take responsibility for your work and make a difference for the people you meet.

Shall we have a talk?

If you are trained as a social- and health care assistant , and you would like to try your hand at home care in District South, we would very much like to hear from you.

Send us your application, or drop by for a non-committal chat and feel if we could be your next place.

You are also welcome to send an SMS or call the team leader Michelle Kiel at tel. 23 80 41 42 .
