Are you Gyldendal's new Finance Specialist?

Do you want to work with accounting across several companies and help to consolidate and develop the finance functions in Denmark's leading publishing company? As a Finance Specialist you will have a central role in Group Finance, where you both work with classical accounting tasks and contribute to taking over, integrating and developing financial processes across Gyldendal group's companies.

The Gyldendal group consists of Gyldendal Publishing and Gyldendal Education, as well as a number of subsidiaries with each their strong professional focus. Among them are Alvilda, Skoledu, Konfront, MentorDanmark, MentorNorge and Gyldendal Astra.

As a Finance Specialist you will be part of Group Finance, where around 30 colleagues work daily to support the business across the group. You will have a broad contact surface and will collaborate closely with both colleagues in the finance function and key people in the subsidiary companies.

The position has been created as part of the work to consolidate several accounting and finance tasks in Group Finance. You will therefore be an important part of taking over and integrating tasks from our subsidiaries, where you will have the opportunity to shape both the role, workflows and the development of the finance function.

What can you expect in the role of Finance Specialist?

In the role of Finance Specialist you will become part of Account Management and have a broad collaboration surface across the entire Group Finance.

Initially, your focus will be the takeover of accounting and other finance-related tasks in Alvilda, Skoledu/Danviden and Konfront, where you will get to understand the existing workflows, systems, etc., and subsequently help anchor the tasks in Group Finance in a smooth and efficient way. At the same time, you will help solve the Account Management team's other tasks and contribute to both existing and new areas of responsibility in Account Management.

The role spans a wide scope and combines daily accounting operations with development and improvement of processes. You must therefore thrive with both recurring operational tasks and tasks where the solution is not necessarily given in advance.

Your duties will include, among other things

• Oversee the takeover of accounting and other similar tasks from Gyldendal's subsidiaries
• Support subsequent integration and anchoring of the tasks in Group Finance
• Perform a broad range of accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable management, invoicing, etc.
• Contribute to interim financial statements, annual closing, audits and other financial reporting
• Drive and develop efficient processes that support a modern and scalable finance function

You will work with several different systems and applications. An important part of the role will therefore be to understand the current processes, systems, etc., and help find solutions that support efficient and stable operations.

We imagine that you

• Have several years of experience from an accounting function, the audit industry and/or a similar role where you have worked broadly with accounting and accounting-related tasks
• Are strong in the craft of bookkeeping and have a good understanding of the interconnections in an accounting cycle
• Have experience with ERP systems and strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Thrive in getting to know new business areas, processes and workflows
• Work in a structured, independent and quality-conscious way
• Are curious and motivated by understanding and improving processes and systems
• Are good at building relationships and trust across the organization
• Thrive in driving the handover and integration of tasks in close collaboration with various stakeholders
• Contribute positively to the community and gladly help colleagues across the organization
