Are you passionate about giving students fantastic learning experiences? At Tagensbo School we are currently looking for a skilled and imaginative Danish teacher for our early learning environment (grades 1-5). You have a major in Danish, but beyond that there are no requirements for a subject specialization. In the first instance, we are seeking a person who we can see fits in at our school and in our staff group.

We have over the past two school years undertaken an exciting effort where we take the students who struggle most with letter-sound learning across 1st grade to an intensive program, where instruction is in small groups based on the material LØFT. This aligns with our belief that an early and systematic intervention with these students matters and that it improves the children's ability to participate in general education as they progress through their school career.

We also work with a systematic reading group where in 1st and 2nd grade you experience a reading teacher from another grade joining Danish instruction for two lessons per week, so you are both the class Danish teacher, reading teacher, and class pedagogue who can work with small reading groups. In 3rd grade the reading teacher disappears, so the class Danish teacher and the class pedagogue continue the reading groups on their own.

Furthermore, we believe that success is best achieved in a community. This also applies to our staff, so we have shared planning every Tuesday from 14:00 to 16:00. Here you meet once a month with all Danish teachers in the Child Learning Environment with a guided agenda and the other three Tuesdays with your Danish colleagues in the grade. Here you plan teaching collectively and delegate tasks among yourselves so you help each other plan the programs running in the grade.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment according to current agreements and collective agreement between the City of Copenhagen and Copenhagen Teachers Association. We will obtain criminal record checks for children and references in connection with employment.
