About the job

Roskilde Municipality, Department of Construction and Property, is seeking an architect for a one-year maternity substitute in the City Hall's internal studio, starting 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The case: The studio is in the process of renovating Roskilde City Hall to implement an activity-based layout. As the renovation progresses, employees move into their new areas – and for this, we need your help to act as the coordinator for developing and implementing all sub-tasks related to the interior and the move. Your work is a continuation of an ongoing implementation of an activity-based interior layout at the city hall, as well as architectural supervision tasks in connection with the constructions. The renovation emphasizes direct reuse of materials and furniture.

The team: You will become the architectural professional part of a small well-functioning interdisciplinary team, working closely together. Other team members handle construction management, BIM models, engineering disciplines, data collection, law and finance. Together we plan ahead for upcoming stages while carrying out the current stage.

The task: Your main tasks will be to carry out the final interior and handover according to the master plan, perform architectural judgement, and adjust room drawings and furniture drawings - in dialogue with the team, the users and in line with the design manual.

You will be responsible for enforcing the design concept and the “red thread” in the interior. The overview of interior design principles becomes especially important when making on-the-spot decisions, e.g. for construction meetings or user meetings, or to use existing furniture as effectively as possible.

About you

You are an architect. You are positive, engaged, imaginative, solution-oriented, and practically minded. You have an aesthetic sense, a spatial understanding, experience in office interior design. You are a seasoned user of Revit and the Adobe suite, primarily Illustrator and also preferably experience with Dalux. It is an advantage if you have also contributed to design as well as supervision, and have experience with furniture ordering and supplier contact.

You want to work with the project's renovation tasks, design tasks, and related logistical tasks. You thrive on collaboration and are keen to invest energy in dialogue with the team and the building's users, so that together we create good and well-functioning everyday frameworks.
