Assistant Contract Construction Managers for Banedanmark

We are currently looking for an engaged assistant contract building supervisor who wants to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to the development of a sustainable railway – through work on managing large construction projects.

The railway plays a central role in the green transition, and we historically have many large and complex projects underway. As an assistant contract building supervisor you will be an important part of a project team, where you support the management of projects with budgets in the order of 0.5 to 1.5 billion DKK.

You will have the opportunity to develop yourself both professionally and personally, while you work closely with more experienced colleagues and gain insight into the whole process from planning to execution.

Your role as assistant contract building supervisor

Your primary focus will be the implementation and operation of a framework agreement on large, foreign special machines for track redevelopment, replacement of ballast, ballast cleaning and related works.

The first year will mainly be about getting the agreement well implemented and translated into practice on the projects. Thereafter there will continue to be focus on daily operation, follow-up and ongoing optimization of the agreement across existing and upcoming projects.

You will play a central role in coordinating and supporting the use of the special machines on the projects that the team's other contract building supervisors and assistant contract building supervisors handle. This requires close collaboration with the framework agreement contract supervisor and broad contact with colleagues, project managers and other partners across the organization. You must also be prepared for tasks to involve physical presence on construction sites in different places in Denmark.

Your tasks will include, among others, to

• Contribute to planning, coordination and follow-up on the framework agreement in close collaboration with the contract building supervisor and other internal partners, including team members, project managers, SI coordinators, stage planners, etc.
• Participate in meetings with contractors and follow up on agreements, tasks and schedules.
• Be present on construction sites and support daily collaboration, progress and the working environment.
• Handle relevant tasks and take responsibility in the contract building supervisor's absence.
• Build experience and develop your competencies in line with the projects' progress – focusing on technology, contract management, finance and collaboration.

Your profile

We imagine that you have a technical or construction-related background and a desire to develop yourself in contract management and management of large construction projects. You do not need experience in all parts of the role, but you must have a solid professional foundation, be curious and be ready to take responsibility.

We place particular emphasis on that you

• Have a technical or construction-related education, e.g., engineer or building constructor, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Preferably have at least three years of relevant experience from the construction and civil engineering industry, contracting company or project work.
• Work structured and keep overview, even when there are many tasks and stakeholders involved.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate well across disciplines and organizational boundaries.
• Have professional integrity and take initiative, follow up on agreements and stand firm on requirements and quality.

Experience from railway, station and track redevelopment or contractor management is an advantage, but not a requirement. The most important is that you want to learn, develop professionally and gradually take on more responsibility.

Your primary place of employment can be in Copenhagen, Aarhus or Fredericia, but you must be prepared to be attached to projects with physical presence on construction sites in different places in the country.

Salary and employment terms

If you are an academic, you are employed under the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the public sector.

You are placed based on academic seniority and experience as a legal employee at the base level as per the current collective agreement, which you find here and the Employee and Competence Agency's salary overview, which you find here.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies there is the possibility of negotiating an allowance. There will be an employer-financed pension scheme of 18.07%.

Otherwise you are employed under the current Central Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The Public Sector Agreement (OAO-S collective agreement) and the organizational agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT workers.

The position is, in principle, placed in salary group 3, step 2 for the Capital Region according to the current collective agreement, which you find here and the Employee and Competence Agency's salary overview, which you find here.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies there is the possibility of negotiating an allowance. There will be an employer-financed pension scheme of 16% attached to the total salary.
