Building manager for municipal properties – a job with meaning and responsibility

Fredensborg Municipality has high ambitions for our properties – both in terms of sustainability, functionality and maintenance. We therefore seek a professionally strong building lead, e.g., building constructor, architect or engineer, who can play a central role in the daily operation and development of our buildings.

Become part of a strong professional community

You will become part of Team Property – an experienced and well-functioning team consisting of 16 colleagues with professional backgrounds such as architect, engineer, building constructor, HVAC technician and mechanical engineer. We place emphasis on high professionalism, an informal tone and the willingness to help each other.

Team Property is one of three teams in the Center for Properties, where we work with facilities management, risk management, engineering and larger construction projects – including new schools and day-care centers. Together we create safe and functional environments for the whole municipality.

Your tasks and responsibilities

You will be responsible for the maintenance of a number of municipal buildings – e.g., schools, day-care centers and leisure facilities. Your tasks will include:

• Ensure both planned and emergency operation of the properties
• Procure and follow up on craftsmen and contractors
• Register tasks in our FM system
• Advise users on minor renovations and on financial solutions
• Carry out building inspections, plan and procure maintenance projects
• Prepare budget estimates, conduct inspections and monitor finances
• Document knowledge and guidance to users in writing

At each property you will work closely with a technical lead – so we always have the right competencies in play.

We imagine that you

• Are educated as building constructor, architect or engineer or have another professional background
• Ideally have experience with operations, project management and/or construction management, but if you are a recent graduate we will train you
• Can handle multiple tasks simultaneously – without losing overview
• Are good at collaborating across teams and communicating with many different users
• Work independently and take responsibility to follow up tasks through to completion

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement – and will be determined based on your qualifications and experience.
