About the job

Baby boom in Hematology Department X

That’s why we are looking for new nurses

There is something in the air in Hematology Department X. It’s buzzing with pregnant nurses, and soon more lab coats will be swapped for maternity leave, babies and mother groups.

We obviously look forward to this. Therefore, we need new colleagues who will help ensure that the coming mothers can go on maternity leave with peace of mind, and that the department’s patients continue to meet high professional standards, presence and safety.

Therefore we are seeking nurses for Hematology Department X.

Hematology with heart, professionalism and development With us you will become part of a specialty where fundamental nursing goes hand in hand with highly specialized care and treatment.

You will work with both acute, chronic and palliative patient pathways. Many of our patients come to the department over a long period, and therefore you will have the opportunity to build close and meaningful relationships with both patients and relatives.

Hematology nursing requires professional curiosity, overview and the courage to be present – even when life is difficult. In return, you get a job where your efforts truly make a difference.

You will be met by experienced and engaged colleagues who are proud of their profession and happy to share their knowledge.

With us you are never alone In Hematology Department X we believe we succeed best together. As a new nurse you will therefore not be left to yourself – whether you are a new graduate or have many years of experience.

You get

  • An individually tailored introductory and training program in the first 12 weeks
  • A mentor from our onboarding team in all shifts
  • Close follow-up from our introduction coordinator nurse and your supervisor
  • Ongoing reflection focusing on both professionalism and well-being
  • Continued support for your development from our education coordinator nurse after the introduction period

We follow you closely through your first year, so you have time and support to become confident in the specialty and find your place in the department.

You also get

  • Mixed shifts with the possibility to influence the duty roster via preferences in HosInfo
  • Weekend shift every third weekend
  • Opportunity for weekend shifts every fourth weekend if you want 12-hour shifts and have a fixed partner
  • Opportunity for further education and continuing education
  • Supervision as a natural part of everyday life
  • Many teaching and development opportunities
  • A strong interdisciplinary and social community

Our values Our four values shape daily life in the department. Do they fit you?

We work together In Hematology Department X we have a very special camaraderie across professions and departments. Nurses, doctors, social and health care assistants, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, dental hygienists, dietitians, social workers, house helpers, secretaries and hospital chaplains work together to create the best possible care pathways for our patients.

We hold regular interdisciplinary conferences and working groups that among other things deal with nutrition, sexuality and socially vulnerable patients. Patients and relatives are actively involved and participate in both working groups and hiring committees.

Our structure is flat, and there is room for everyone to contribute questions, ideas and new perspectives.

We take responsibility We take responsibility for our patients, their relatives and each other. We are constantly trying to improve, and it is a natural part of our culture to act when something can be improved. We speak openly about mistakes and challenges, because we believe that learning, integrity and shared responsibility make us stronger.

We think innovatively We are a department in constant development. We have an active research unit and a close collaboration with the department’s project nurses. Our Home Unit continuously works with patient involvement and treatment at home – including home chemotherapy with CADD pumps.

We have many ideas and a strong development culture. If you are curious and want to influence the future of hematology nursing, you will have good opportunities with us.

We create atmosphere The collegial community is something very special in our department. You will be welcomed by colleagues with open arms, who look after each other and take into account both professionalism and the person behind the uniform. The good atmosphere is also felt by our patients and relatives.

We hold a large annual staff party, New Year’s reception and two joint theme days per year. We sing morning songs with the patients, and our volunteers help create coziness and presence in the department. Many also meet outside of work – including handball and Friday bar.

In short: We work with serious illnesses, but we do it with warmth, humor and a strong sense of community.

Who are you We imagine that you

  • Are a licensed nurse – newly qualified or experienced
  • Want to work with acute, chronic and palliative patient pathways
  • Appreciate close relationships with patients and relatives
  • Thrive in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Are professionally curious and want to learn
  • Contribute to the community and the good atmosphere

You do not need to already know the hematology specialty. The most important is that you want to learn it – then we will ensure you receive a safe and thorough introduction.
