About the job

Join us in expanding the Eastern Denmark Region's pre-hospital psychology corps

Are you one of our new dedicated crisis psychologists who want to help us set up and develop a psychology function in the soon-to-be former Region Zealand? Ambulance rescuers, emergency physicians and staff at the AMK dispatch center and the Medical Hotline (1818/1813) need strong psychological professional support.

We are seeking 2 experienced psychologists with a professional qualification, ideally with a specialist qualification in psychotraumatology.

The Pre-hospital Care in the Region East will consist of about 2300 employees and has the task of creating a coherent emergency response for the region's 2.8 million citizens. The Acute Care Service of the Capital Region has in the last 3.5 years had psychologists attached to support the staff. And with the merger into Region East, psychology staffing will be expanded so that we will cover our entire new organization.

About the position

The psychology group in the Pre-hospital Care will be composed of the two existing psychologists and the two new ones, who in close collaboration will support the employees in the pre-hospital area.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • Supervise staff in the AMK dispatch center (the healthcare professionals as well as dispatchers).
  • Supervise ambulance rescue personnel and sometimes emergency physicians.
  • Provide training to leaders in defusing.
  • Handle debriefings after major incidents involving many parties.
  • Provide broad psychological professional education based on employees' needs, including at 1813 and 1818.
  • Provide individual trauma treatments for staff after serious incidents.
  • Participate in larger crises and disasters as crisis psychologists.

The position can be assembled in several ways. If you have your own practice and would like to keep it 1-2 days a week, that is possible. But it can also be a full-time position with us. We must find a solution together that you can see yourself in.

We offer

  • An exciting and broad psychological work with own areas of responsibility.
  • A professionally strong and well-functioning team of colleagues and close interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Professional sparring and external collegial supervision.
  • Participation in development projects and opportunities for clinical research.
  • Focus on work-life balance.

About you

You must be educated as cand.psych. with a professional qualification and preferably with a specialist qualification in psychotraumatology. We emphasize that you can match the following competencies and have:

  • Solid clinical experience.
  • Extensive experience with teaching and supervision.
  • Experience with crisis management and stress reactions.
  • A flair for working independently and a high degree of proactivity.
  • Experience with EMDR or a desire to master EMDR.
  • An ability to build trusting relationships with many different staff groups at many levels.
  • Resilience in relation to hearing about and being involved in very serious incidents afterward.
  • An ability to balance the role as internal psychologist.

Salary and employment terms

Employment as a psychologist in accordance with the agreement for academics employed in regions etc.

You will be employed in the Region of Eastern Denmark and your primary workplace will be at the Pre-hospital Center, Ringstedgade 61 in Næstved, where you will have an office. You should expect to drive around to the region's ambulance bases in the former Region Zealand from time to time, as you as a psychologist must be visible and accessible. Therefore you must have a driving license and preferably be able to provide your own car.

The positions are, as a rule, full-time with an average of 37 hours per week with flexible working hours. The positions are desired to be filled from February 1, 2027 or shortly thereafter.

It is a condition for taking the position that you can undergo security clearance.
