Disability support worker wanted for a young woman in Værløse

About the Job

Wednesday or Thursday plus Friday from 16:00-20:30 and 1 Saturday from 10:00-16:00 per month as a general rule as a starting point . That is about 42 hours per month. There is an option for a substitute for your partner, who has Tuesdays and also a weekend day and also various arrangements regarding holidays.

The job starts as soon as possible with trial shifts, training and a shadow shift. A six-month schedule of shifts is prepared.

Salary is in accordance with the current rates at LOBPA.

Who am I, and what do I need?

I am a young woman of 23 who lives with my mother and father and two old cats in Værløse – close to the station. I sit in a wheelchair, I do not have speech but with facial expressions, sounds etc., I will probably tell you how I feel. (That’s something you have to learn and therefore be open to). I cannot do anything independently. I may have stomach pains and be very tense due to my spasticity.

I need help with all daily and practical tasks in my everyday life – i.e. feeding, oral care, drinking and medication via a gastric tube, positioning, toileting and personal hygiene in general. My parents train in all care and nursing. Plus caretaking with the current helper.

If it isn’t a day with pain, and the practical care is taken care of, it’s time for the exciting part – and this is where I will choose you specifically. I enjoy watching music videos, playing Nintendo, going to the library, doing creative projects or going to the cinema, foot baths, baking cookies… if you can think of some good activities we can enjoy together. Some days I’m just mega tired, and then the day is just quiet or a walk in the suburban streets.

You are welcome to have experience with caregiving in general, but it is not a requirement. Smokers are not preferred.
