About the job

Are you passionate about the most vulnerable citizens with mental health challenges? Become a psychiatric evaluator in Roskilde Municipality

Do you want to be part of a leading municipality in the specialized adult area – with a focus on recovery, citizen involvement and high professional standards? Roskilde Municipality is looking for a new psychiatric evaluator for a strong authority team.

We are open to several professional profiles. However, it is a requirement that you have a health background. You may be trained as a nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist or have completed a social and health education as SSA. The most important for us is your commitment and motivation to work with this target group, who often have a dual diagnosis (psychiatry and substance abuse).

Do you – like us – want to contribute to the specialized adult area, and are you passionate about supporting citizens’ possibilities for recovery and rehabilitation? We have a rare open position as a psychiatric evaluator. The position is 37 hours per week with employment as soon as possible and no later than January 1, 2027.

Who are we? We are a governance unit in the specialized adult social area in Roskilde Municipality. The department consists of 29 employees with different educational backgrounds, including social workers, social educators and nurses, distributed in smaller teams.

Your closest collaboration partner will be an experienced psychiatric evaluator who has many years of experience with the task. You will also participate in a fixed sparring group once a week.

In the social area of Roskilde Municipality we work from a social strategy with a focus on each citizen’s recovery and rehabilitation. We are a front-running municipality when it comes to a recovery-oriented approach, and we focus on supporting the individual citizen in achieving hope, dreams and wishes for their own life – in close cooperation with our service areas.

In our department we work across disciplines. We strive to find solutions together and ensure that all relevant perspectives come into play. This is also one of the reasons why we have two psychiatric evaluator positions – to ensure a strong link to psychiatry.

Tasks in the position You will have an exciting range of duties and will work with our most vulnerable, psychiatrically challenged citizens, who often have a dual diagnosis. Your main tasks will be:

  • Recommendations for health interventions and care housing: You process applications and refer for assistance under the Social Services Act for adults over 18 years.
  • Discharges and coordination: You handle discharges from hospital etc. and ensure cohesive citizen pathways.
  • Follow-up: You follow up with citizens who have been referred to offers under the Social Services Act §§ 83, 85, 103–104 and 107–108, thereby supporting the citizen’s recovery and rehabilitation process.
  • Legal framework: You will also work with the Social Services Act §§ 84, 97, 102 and the Housing Act § 105.
  • You are not expected to know everything; we will ensure proper onboarding.

Follow-up is conducted in close collaboration with our suppliers in the service area as well as external partners.

Educational background We imagine that you match one of the following profiles

  • You have a combination of a health professional and a social professional profile.
  • You have a health professional education (e.g., nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist or within SSA) and have experience as a evaluator. You want to work in a social field and are considering taking a diploma in the social area.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Sees themselves as part of a team, but can also work independently.
  • Contributes with a positive attitude and wants to contribute to the ongoing professional development in the department.
  • Has administrative flair and good IT skills (knowledge of the case management system KMD Nexus is an advantage).
  • Can apply legal rules, guidelines and practice studies in their work and take co-responsibility for professionalism and economy.
  • Can develop and work with the Adult Assessment Method (VUM 2.0) and ensure targeted documentation (or be prepared to learn it).
  • Can engage in dialogue with suppliers about content, goals and price for concrete offers in collaboration with our contract negotiator.
  • Is committed to citizen involvement and is motivated to support citizens in their hopes, dreams and life goals.
  • Has a driving license.

What you will get with us: You will become part of an employee group with high professionalism and strong social commitment, where there is room for both laughter and professional sparring – and with management close at hand. We have a workplace in the town hall and access to a good canteen.

  • Colleagues who help each other and prioritize professional sparring in everyday life.
  • Supervision by an external supervisor.
  • A mentoring scheme, where we jointly plan an individualized introductory program based on your professional needs.
  • Flexibility with the possibility to arrange your workday yourself, including as a starting point one day of home working per week.
  • Access to courses, professional development and continuing education (e.g., a specially designed diploma module in recovery and rehabilitation).
  • A family-friendly workplace with a flexitime agreement.

Salary and employment terms The position is full-time at 37 hours per week with immediate start and no later than January 1, 2027. Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The position falls under New Pay. A criminal record certificate and references will be requested before employment. You are welcome to attach your diploma(s).

Application deadline and further information The deadline to apply for the position is Tuesday, November 17 at 12:00.

Interviews will be held on Monday, November 23, 2026, and a possible second round on Thursday, November 26, 2026.
