Become SSH in 17 weeks - Requires 2 years of relevant experience

If you are over 25 years old and have 2 years of relevant professional experience from primarily day shifts, you can train to become a Social and Health Helper in 17 weeks.

You start directly in the main program and take the education with credit for on-the-job training.

To be admitted to the program you must be able to document a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience within the last 4 years from one of the areas below (in accordance with the regulation from 22/4 2022).

• Home care
• Care centers

It is a requirement that you can document experience with the following job functions

• Must have experience from multiple shifts with main emphasis on day shifts.
• Must have substantial work experience with care and assistance tasks.
• Must have been part of a team in their job functions
• Must have been involved in professional sparring in their job functions

Experience counts if you have obtained it within the last 4 years before the start of the education.

Admission procedure

You must sign up for a recognition of prior learning assessment, abbreviated RKV, which you do by contacting the education secretary Tina Bonde Andersen at email: [email protected] or phone/ 73334392.

In connection with the RKV you must be able to present the following documentation.

• Two years of relevant professional experience (Employer’s certificate)
• Exam certificates from primary school and any other education
• If you have first aid and basic fire protection certificates you must also send documentation for this.

After participating in the RKV you will be able to enter a training agreement with a municipality.
