Biomedical Laboratory Scientist Student for the Department of Clinical Microbiology, Herlev Hospital

At the Department of Clinical Microbiology (KMA) we are seeking bioanalyst students for the period 01.12.2026 - 30.06.2027. On 8 hours per week.

KMA performs microbiological diagnostics and advising within bacteriology, virology, serology, parasitology and mycology for hospitals in the Capital Region of Denmark, as well as primary health care. The department is responsible for infection control counseling and also produces bacterial substrates.

• Working hours Monday-Friday in the time window: 16.00-21.00, Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays: 8.15-15.39.

Duties

• Unpacking a post bag with microbiological samples from the primary sector.
• Sorting microbiological samples by sample category.
• Unpacking blood culture bottles and placing them in blood culture incubators.
• Inoculation of specimen material for microbiological examination. This will typically be swabs, tissue, fluids, respiratory samples and urine samples.
• Operating the department's automated inoculation robot for cultivation.
• Other tasks related to loading samples onto equipment.

• that you are a bioanalyst student, possibly with experience in microbiology.
• that you are stable, structured and can work independently.

Employment terms

The positions are fixed-term from 01.12.2026 - 30.06.2027 with the possibility of extension.

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
