About the job

Become a social- and health care assistant on a specialized ward for brain injuries and make a difference that is felt

Do you dream of a job where your professional expertise, your presence and your human understanding make a real difference – every single day? Where you are close to the patients in some of their most vulnerable moments and help create security, structure and hope?

Then maybe you are the one we are looking for.

We are looking for a social and health care assistant who wants to become an important part of a highly specialized environment with complex patient pathways, strong collaboration and good opportunities for development.

A work with meaning and presence

Bodil Eskesen Center houses Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries. We receive patients from all of Eastern Denmark as well as the Faroe Islands and Greenland – from 1 year and up.

Patients are admitted with severe acquired brain injuries after, among other things, trauma, severe stroke, hypoxia after cardiac arrest and complex cerebral infections.

Many come directly from an intensive care course and are still critically ill when they arrive. Others are further along in their course, where there is more calm and time for rehabilitation. This means that your nursing care can look very different from day to day. Some days it's about keeping an overview, responding quickly and using your clinical eye in complex and acute situations. Other days there is time for the good conversation, the relationship and the small things that matter for the patient or their relatives.

We work based on Fundamentals of Care , where we focus on the whole person – physical, psychological and social needs.

We place emphasis on a close collegial environment, where we can be serious about our work, help each other and at the same time have fun together. We prioritize a close relationship between staff and management with room for both professional and personal sparring. For us, a good workplace is about creating a life with meaning, collaboration and the belief that together we can make a difference for the patients.

A safe start – we prepare you well

We know that it takes a good introduction to join a specialized ward, therefore we strive to make sure you are well introduced. Therefore you get:

  • A thorough introductory program
  • Five weeks outside of norms
  • Close sparring with both colleagues and management

You will become part of a team that prioritizes you feeling safe and well equipped.

Development that makes sense

With us you have the opportunity to develop your competences and become even sharper in your profession.

We offer

  • Ongoing competence development
  • Courses and relevant further education
  • Weekly teaching – both mono- and interprofessional
  • Opportunity for professional deepening and eventual participation in development projects.

Flexibility in your working life

We know that a good working life is also about balance.

With us you get

  • Part-time or full-time options
  • Choice between day/evening or day/night
  • Weekend shifts every other or every third weekend.

Our shift planner works closely with you to find solutions that fit your life.

A strong community

You become part of an engaged staff group where we help each other, share knowledge and create a safe and respectful working environment.

There is room here for both professionalism and laughter in daily life.
