About the job

BUILD seeks student study advisors

Job description

The Department of Construction, City and Environment is seeking a decentralized student study advisor for the programs under the Study Board for Construction, City and Environment in Copenhagen. The position is available from 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position involves guiding students and prospective students in areas such as

  • Curricula/content of the study programs in the different tracks
  • Admission
  • Change of studies
  • Study interruption
  • Exemptions and credits
  • Help to structure exam revision
  • Student ambassador tasks
  • Ongoing collaboration with the study team at BUILD

In addition, the position involves outward-facing activities such as Open House and Study Internship, students for a day, etc.

The study guidance is conducted in collaboration with Study and Wellbeing Guidance, Study Leader, Chair of the Study Board and the Study Board Secretary.

To equip you to provide competent guidance, the job includes a paid course in Study Guidance. Until this course, you will be trained by the other student study advisors and the study team.

Person specification you should be

  • Open
  • Positive
  • Structured
  • Approachable and well-informed, as you will represent the study programs and the university in many different contexts, e.g. at high schools, Open House and other events.
  • It is expected, among other things, that you can present and explain academic content about the study programs under Construction, City and Environment to the students, for example in presentations on examination rules and an introduction for new students.
  • It is also expected that you can operate in English.

Employment: Working hours are a maximum of 8 hours per week. In busy months – around the start of studies, Study Internship and Open House – the workload is greatest. The number of hours is adjusted in collaboration with your study guidance colleagues and the study team, which means there is an opportunity to reduce the hours around project submission/exams, etc. In addition, there will be a handover period during which you will gradually be brought more into the job's various tasks.

Applicants are welcome to contact student study guidance at [email protected] or the study board secretary – [email protected] with questions regarding the position's content.

The appointment is conditional on you being an active student.
