About the job

Would you like to be part of a department among the best in the country within the specialty?

Would you like to be part of an attractive department with high professional quality and well-being?

We are seeking a development and teaching-responsible nurse with entry as soon as possible.

Who are we?

Our patients are recently operated after, among other things, bypass surgery, new heart valves, as well as after operations for cancer in the lungs and esophagus. In addition to the inpatient ward, we have an outpatient clinic where patients come for pre-consultation and preparation for operation. The ward is open during the day on all weekdays, and coverage is rotated by staff from the inpatient ward. We therefore work with the entire patient pathway both before and after operation.

The tasks range from basic nursing care, instrumental nursing, teaching and guidance to patients with a focus on life after surgery, to the nursing of the acute and critically ill patient.

Our inpatient ward is staffed for 15 beds. We are about 30 nurses in the department. Since our staff group mainly consists of nurses, there is good opportunity for nursing professional sparring in all shifts. In addition to nurses, we also have one department physiotherapist employed.

Our department is in constant development and works continuously on developing professionalism and competencies. The department is characterized by a high quality and activity level, where both mono- and interprofessional collaboration is valued highly.

We have a postdoc attached to the department, ready to collaborate on quality and research projects. We are as a rule organized with primary nursing, as we value a holistic approach to our patients. You will enter as part of a pair, but will have the primary responsibility for observation, care and comfort for your patients.

We have a strong focus on a good working environment and know that the balance between work life and private life is important for the well-being of the individual. The continuous focus on well-being is also reflected in our latest well-being survey. Social relations and good collegiality are important for job satisfaction, which is why we prioritize social events highly. This is reflected in, among other things, a maternity café, annual heart celebrations, Christmas hygge, etc. If you are curious, you can find us on Instagram: Afdeling T (@thoraxkir_aalborguh) • Instagram pictures and videos

We are settling well into the new framework and work routines in Hospital City.

The department has a large educational task and receives nursing students in 1st, 2nd and 6th semesters as well as social and health care assistants. There is employed a clinical education nurse and two clinical supervisors who primarily handle this task.

In the department, part of the teaching and development is also handled by specialty-nurse leaders, where relevant in collaboration with the development and teaching-responsible nurse.
