About the job

Do you want to make a difference for young people who need safety, presence and stable adults around them?

Tryghånd ApS is looking for a committed and caring care worker for our specialized support offer for young people with significantly impaired mental functioning.

With us you will become part of a dedicated team where we work purposefully to create safe, developing and meaningful frameworks for each young person.

About Tryghånd ApS

Tryghånd ApS provides specialized support to young people with significantly impaired mental functioning who are placed outside the home. Our work is based on an appreciative, structured and individually adapted approach, where the young person’s wellbeing, development and self-determination are at the center.

We have applied to Socialtilsyn Midt for approval of the offer as a residential care facility and are, in this context, facing an upcoming approval process.

Our starting point in our meetings with the young people is that we never refuse without an instruction. This means, among other things, that in conflict situations we help the young person find an alternative to an inappropriate behavior rather than simply rejecting them.

We place great emphasis on professionalism, daily sparring and close cooperation between staff and management. We use both internal and external supervision and continually prioritize competency development. At present, several of our employees are undertaking KRAP- and conflict management courses, among others.

We provide support around the clock. You will therefore be included in a shift plan with rotating day, evening and weekend shifts. Night shifts may occur depending on need and agreement.

As a care worker, your tasks will include, among other things

  • creating safety, calm and presence in the daily life of the young people
  • being a stable and clear person whom the young people can trust
  • supporting the young person in daily routines and activities
  • following the structure and the agreements that apply to the individual young person
  • providing personal care and practical help according to the young person’s needs
  • contributing to documentation of daily efforts
  • working closely with colleagues and management
  • actively contributing to a safe and proper working environment.

We are looking for someone who

  • wants to work with people and make a positive difference
  • is caring, present and patient
  • can build safe relationships and meet the young person with respect and recognition
  • is calm and can maintain an overview, even when a situation becomes challenging
  • is stable and responsible
  • can work in a structured way and follow common agreements and guidelines
  • can look behind behavior and is curious about what the young person is trying to tell
  • wants to learn and develop your competencies within the specialized area
  • can engage constructively in close teamwork
  • has a sense of humor and contributes to a good collegial community
  • has a driving license, category B.

It is not a requirement that you have a pedagogical education. The most important thing is that you have the right personal competencies, the desire to work and respect for the individual young person.

If you have experience from, for example, caregiving, residential facilities, the disability sector, psychiatry, care, social services or similar, it is an advantage – but we provide thorough introduction and training.

We offer

  • an exciting position within a specialized area
  • thorough introduction and training
  • engaged and professionally skilled colleagues
  • ongoing professional sparring and supervision
  • competence development and relevant courses
  • visible leadership and close collaboration
  • a strong collegial community
  • a work environment characterized by trust, integrity and humor

We expect that you

  • work loyally according to the agreements and the structure around the young people
  • meet the young people with respect, care and recognition
  • take responsibility for your tasks and ask when you are in doubt
  • actively contribute to collaboration with your colleagues
  • participate in professional sparring and supervision
  • help ensure a consistent and professional approach to the young people
  • document relevant observations and incidents in a factual manner.
