Head of Development for Business and Growth

The business community in Lemvig Municipality is home to significant strongholds with noticeable growth in green energy transition, maritime/offshore industries and tourism. There is also an important development and generational renewal in classic industries such as industry, construction and civil engineering, agriculture and fishing.

The municipality's business community is also in the middle of a huge transformation where chemical production at FMC Rønland (formerly Cheminova) shall be replaced by new industrial purposes in heavy industry or the defense industry. There are few more exciting business policy positions than those Lemvig Municipality currently offers. There are strong business potential and there are large and challenging challenges.

The political leadership of Lemvig Municipality places great emphasis on close cooperation across municipal units to give the municipality's companies the best possible interaction. Our companies are the engine behind the development of the municipality and create the jobs essential for growth and settlement.

Lemvig Municipality works closely with Struer Municipality and Holstebro Municipality in the collaboration Klog Energi, where we jointly present Northwest Jutland as a strong partner for growth linked to green transition.

We are advertising this position as Development Manager with the aim of finding applicants who have innovative drive, experience and strong collaboration skills to play a central role in solving the challenges to create growth and new jobs in Lemvig Municipality.

The Development Manager will lead "Development for Business and Growth" with three employees (under establishment). The Development Manager reports to the head of Job and Citizen Service Lene Nørlund and the municipal director Søren Søndergaard Kjær.

Lemvig Municipality has a strong tradition of working across professional areas and organizational boundaries. Development for Business and Growth therefore participates in close collaboration with both the employment efforts and Technical & Environment. The collaboration ranges from strategic business development and advocacy to physical planning, business service and the daily contact with companies.

As Development Manager, you are expected to be a unifying force that contributes to coherence between the municipality's business, employment and planning efforts, so that companies experience a coordinated and professional entry to the municipality.

The Development Manager is responsible for strategic business development, tourism and the expansion of collaborations on growth and business development with local, regional and national partners. The Development Manager serves the mayor, the political steering group and the municipal director in their work with growth and business and represents Lemvig Municipality on selected boards and in established collaborations. The Development Manager shall lead development of business communication.

Structured – so you can follow up on dialogues and meetings, formulate operational conclusions and initiate and monitor the execution of large and small tasks until results are created.

Political flair – and thrive at the intersection of a municipality with elected leadership, private companies and a wide range of other partners. You contribute to political work and help translate political visions and decisions into concrete initiatives and results.

Approachable and service-oriented – companies should experience engagement and professionalism in their meetings with you and your team.

Communication – you communicate clearly both in writing and orally in a way that is relationship-building and results-driven, you help create awareness of Lemvig Municipality's strengths, opportunities and business potentials.

Professional beacon - you must be the municipality's professional beacon in the business and tourism area - therefore you must have an overview, be able to set direction and contribute knowledge to the benefit of politicians, actors, companies, organizations etc.

Your tasks

As Development Manager you will contribute to

• Develop new initiatives that help Lemvig Municipality's business policy framework to be realized - the goal is to translate potentials into concrete results for growth, jobs and settlement.
• Utilize Lemvig Municipality's green capital as an asset for settlement, creation of jobs within green energy, port-related industries and offshore and be Lemvig Municipality's anchor in the Klog Energi collaboration.
• Further develop our strong position within tourism, health and the development of rural areas. You are an important sparring partner for Lemvig-Thyborøn Handel og Turisme, which handles guest services for Lemvig Municipality and organizes large and small events in the municipality.
• Maintain and develop alliances with companies, neighboring municipalities, partners and educational institutions such as DTU, Aarhus University and VIA University College. This also includes the collaboration between the seven cooperating municipalities in Business Region MidtVest
• Be a hub for a range of the municipality's business-oriented activities such as responsibility for business conferences, collaboration with companies to promote common business policy interests, for example infrastructure investments, collaboration with Erhvervshus Midtjylland and collaboration in Destination Nordvestkysten.

The Development Manager must in particular lead externally and upwards. The Development Manager is a close sparring partner for the mayor and the municipal director and also acts as deputy in selected outward-facing settings.

Lemvig Municipality is used to going the extra mile to be heard by partners and national decision-makers - the Development Manager must contribute to the municipality's advocacy in close cooperation with the mayor and the executive.

Salary

Salary is determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and Lemvig Municipality's salary policy.
