About the job

Do you want to help solve an important societal task in the Debt Collection Agency, where quality, pace and propriety go hand in hand? Then you may be the one we are looking for.

The Debt Collection Agency is responsible for collecting the debt owed to the public sector. It is a task of great importance to our society. Our task is to ensure that as many people as possible pay their debt to the public sector, and that new debt is prevented – “We help Denmark out of debt. We are the state’s debt collection.”

Case processing with citizen contact

We are looking for more good colleagues who can ensure efficient and correct debt collection based on solid case processing. As a case handler with us, you will have a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Telephone citizen contact regarding handling of debt to the public sector
  • Case processing of various debt collection tasks – including making decisions
  • Budget handling - including calculating how much the citizen is able to pay based on the current legislation when processing and assessing incoming financial information
  • Handling of written inquiries

We would like you to

  • thrive with telephone citizen contact
  • be able to work structurally with your tasks
  • be able to work independently and make decisions on a solid professional basis
  • be professionally curious and quality-minded
  • be good at collaborating and communicating
  • have numerical understanding
  • be adaptable and approach changes and challenges with a smile

You may have experience either from previous employment or from relevant education such as finance economist, professional bachelor in taxation or a relevant academic education, or you may be office-trained.

The most important thing is your attitude to the work and that you want to develop yourself in an environment with a focus on high professionalism, propriety and good public administration ethics.

We offer

  • competent and committed colleagues who help each other
  • work with meaningful tasks close to the citizen
  • a flexible work-life balance

As a new employee you will experience that the learning curve is steep, but we will ensure you are well prepared to solve your tasks.

You will become part of a team with good camaraderie – even when we are moving very fast.

Contact and employment terms

If you want to be our new colleague, please send your application, CV, transcript papers and any additional materials via the link “apply for the position” no later than Sunday, 18 October 2026.

If you want to know more about the positions, you are welcome to contact function manager Kathrine Siem at phone 72371553 or function manager Jan Brink at phone 72376407.

First interviews will be held in weeks 43, 44 and 45 and second interviews at the end of weeks 45, 46 and 47.

There will be a logic and personality analysis, which will be reviewed at the second interview. We ask you to provide at least two references, just as we will conduct a criminal record check and debt background check regarding public sector arrears prior to employment.

Employment will commence on 1 January 2027.

You will be employed under the applicable collective agreements for office clerks, laboratorians and IT staff (HK), the State Academics Collective Agreement (AC) or the Collective Agreement for agents, etc. (DTS) in the Ministry of Taxation and Growth.

Employment will be in the Ministry of Taxation and Growth with the associated institutions.
