Helsingør Music School seeks a dedicated and competent cello teacher

We are looking for you …

who is passionate about teaching children and young people at all levels, and who with engagement, professionalism and presence can inspire and develop the cello students at Helsingør Music School.

We are looking for you who with a solid musical and pedagogical foundation can meet each student individually while also wanting to actively contribute to the music school's chamber music and orchestra life.

You will become part of an engaged string group with two violin teachers and a double bass teacher, where high professional standards go hand in hand with good collegiality.

The primary responsibilities of the position include

• teaching solo cello students at various levels
• participating in the teaching of two of the music school's string orchestras
• collaborating with the other teachers in the string group
• participating in concerts and events during the music school season

We expect that you

• are a conservatory-trained cellist or have a substantially relevant education
• have experience teaching children and young people
• have a solid pedagogical foundation and can plan an inspiring and structured teaching approach
• are eager to work with ensemble playing and orchestra teaching
• stay informed and up-to-date in your field
• are a good colleague and ready to collaborate with other staff

Salary and terms of employment

The position is 17/37 hours per week. The teaching includes, among other things, Wednesdays, which is the music school's fixed orchestra day, and it is therefore a prerequisite that you can work on this day.

Salary and employment according to the applicable collective agreement with the possibility to negotiate qualification and function pay.

Helsingør Municipality requires that a criminal record and child protection clearance be obtained for the applicant intended to be hired, and that this is included in the overall final assessment.

Start date: January 1, 2027

Helsingør Music School is one of Denmark's oldest music schools and in 2023 could celebrate its 75th anniversary.
