About the job

Chief Nurse to the Department of Multimorbidity, Medicine 2, Holbæk Hospital

We are seeking a chief nurse who is keen to lead and further develop a department that sits at the center of some of the healthcare system's greatest challenges and opportunities.

The Department of Multimorbidity treats patients with complex disease patterns, multiple simultaneous conditions and often long and intricate patient pathways. These are patients who require high professionalism, strong interdisciplinary collaboration and the ability to create coherence across specialties, professional groups and sectors.

Precisely these patients will come to occupy more space in the future of healthcare. Therefore, the Department of Multimorbidity is not merely a ward with beds. It is one of the places where some of the health system's most important tasks are already being carried out every day.

About Medicine 2

Medicine 2 is a large medical department with high professionalism, strong interdisciplinary environments and a clear ambition to develop the best patient pathways for people with complex medical diseases.

We work purposefully with quality, patient safety, education and development, and we believe that the best results are created through strong professional communities, close collaboration and management close to the core task.

As a leader in Medicine 2 you will be part of a department where there is room for initiative, development and new ideas, and where we view leadership as an active effort to create good conditions for both patients and staff.

About the department

The Department of Multimorbidity has 23 beds, including palliative beds.

The department is characterized by high professionalism, strong cross-disciplinary relations and dedicated staff. Here, nurses, social and health care assistants, doctors, therapists and other partners collaborate on patient pathways where the quality of coordination, cooperation and nursing care is decisive.

Patients are often complex with several simultaneous diseases and a need for coherent pathways across specialties, professional groups and sectors.

At the same time, the Department of Multimorbidity is closely linked to some of the most important challenges that the entire health system faces: more elderly patients, more people with chronic diseases, greater demands for cross-sectoral collaboration and increasing expectations for quality and coherence in patient pathways.

An strategically important leadership position

Medicine 2 has chosen to strengthen the leadership around the Department of Multimorbidity.

Therefore we are looking for a new chief nurse, while the current chief nurse continues in the department with responsibility for cross-cutting development and implementation tasks.

It is a deliberate choice. We believe that strong professionalism, high quality and attractive workplaces require leadership close to the employees and close to the patients.

As chief nurse you take over a well-functioning department with engaged staff and a strong professional foundation. At the same time, you become part of a department and a hospital that actively works with the challenges and opportunities that the healthcare of the future brings.

About the position

As chief nurse you will have the overall nursing and personnel management responsibility for the department.

You will be responsible for creating the best possible framework for high quality, strong patient pathways, staff well-being and professional development.

We are looking for a leader who thrives on both the daily management task and the continued development of the department's professionalism and culture.

You will be part of Medicine 2's management team and will work closely with the chief nurse, leading physicians and the department's other managers.

We are looking for a leader who

  • Can create direction, engagement and following through close to the team through hands-on leadership
  • Has strong operational leadership competencies
  • Can balance quality, capacity, patient pathways and staff well-being
  • Sees opportunities in the development of the healthcare system of the future
  • Supports interdisciplinary collaboration and shared solutions around the patients
  • Works systematically with quality, patient safety and improvement work
  • Has a focus on recruitment, competence development and staff retention

We imagine that you

  • Are a licensed nurse
  • Have leadership experience and preferably a leadership education or the ambition to complete one
  • Have experience from the medical field or other similarly complex clinical environments
  • Can build trusting relationships and strong collaborations
  • Want to contribute to shaping the development of future patient pathways for patients with multimorbidity

We offer

  • An department with engaged and professionally strong staff
  • A strong managerial foundation and close collaboration with experienced leadership colleagues
  • Good opportunities for both professional, personal and leadership development
  • Opportunity to set the direction for a department with great strategic significance
  • A department that actively invests in leadership as a prerequisite for quality, development and well-being
