Do you want to lead the development of our inpatient ward?

Urology at Region Hospital Gødstrup is seeking a leading consultant for our inpatient ward.

We are looking for a specialist in urology who wishes to combine high professional expertise with organizational and strategic leadership. You will play a central role in the continued development of the inpatient ward and become an important member of the department's overall management team. The position provides an opportunity to set the direction for professional quality, patient safety, patient pathways and resource use in a department with high ambitions for both patients and staff.

As leading consultant you will have an organizational and professional leadership responsibility for the inpatient ward together with the head nurse of the ward.

You must work in close collaboration with the head nurse, the department management and the department's other staff to ensure that daily operations run efficiently, while we continue developing the future of urinary tract surgery.

Staff management is not part of the position at appointment but may, by agreement with the department management, become part of the role in the future.

The scope of the leadership role can vary, and the time commitment will be agreed in dialogue with the department management.

In addition to our fixed base in Gødstrup, we have a large outpost in Viborg, where there is both outpatient and operative activity. Training of younger doctors is also a natural part of everyday life at the Viborg campus.

Urology, RHG

Urology, RHG, carries the urology care for the western part of Region Midtjylland, and has operative and outpatient activity in both Gødstrup and Viborg.

The department handles evaluation and treatment of all types of basic urological patients.

Urology at RHG also holds the regional function regarding ESWL for the entire Region Midtjylland, and also handles the regional function for PNL.

Urology, RHG, collaborates with Urinary Surgery, Aarhus University Hospital, in a formalized collaboration on non-curative hormone-modulating treatment of prostate cancer at progression, as well as the regional function regarding evaluation and treatment of kidney cancer and benign surgical kidney conditions.

Urology handles common pediatric neurology.

The department is responsible for education of doctors – and other professional groups at all levels.

Doctor staffing

The department is staffed with 1 chief physician, 1 leading consultant, 1/10 research‑responsible consultant, 11 consultants, 7 department doctors and approximately 20 trainee doctors.

In daily practice there are both on-call, intermediate on-call and back-up shifts. On weekends there is intermediate on-call and back-up shifts.

The on-call shift consists of partly main training doctors and specialists. 10-person roster with on-call.

Employment terms

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the field. The appointment is made at Region Midtjylland RHG, Department of Urinary Tract Surgery.

There is on-site service at the Viborg site.

The position may be a duty with on-call duties.
