About the department

Cardiology is a department with strong professional traditions, high ambitions and a great commitment to developing the cardiovascular specialty. We have for many years built a strong department of which we are proud – but we are equally focused on where we should be in the coming years.

Cardiology handles the cardiology function for residents in the 6 municipalities under the West Jutland Health Council. The department has about 160 staff, of which the functional leadership group consists of 6 leaders. We are seeking a chief physician who can both protect the strong foundation that makes us strong today and at the same time challenge us to be better tomorrow, so we can help shape the future offerings to residents in the western part of the Central Denmark Region.

In Cardiology we believe that the best results are achieved when people have responsibility and influence and experience that their professional competencies make a difference. Therefore we work with a flat leadership structure and a large managerial latitude, where multidisciplinary involvement and dialogue are central elements. We have close interaction with LMU and emphasise that decisions are made with regard to the professionalism, the staff and the patients.

Integrity characterizes our way of collaborating, and we make an effort to create a good interaction based on joint decision-making and active involvement of patients and relatives.

As chief physician you will be central to the department's continued development. Together with the chief nurse you will unite staff and leaders around a common project, create development through dialogue and ensure that Cardiology also in the future is an attractive place to be a patient, employee and partner. You must be a visible, curious and approachable leader in daily practice – and at the same time you must be able to navigate safely in a changing health system that continually sets demands on how we organize ourselves.
