About the job

To take care of churchwarden duties in Greve Parish's two churches, Johanneskirken in the town centre and Greve Church in the village, we are seeking, for appointment on 1 January 2027 or earlier, an employee who in cooperation with the parish's other two church wardens can manage the diverse range of tasks associated with the extensive and varied activity in the parish.

Greve Parish has just under 12,000 inhabitants, and there are 19 staff members in the parish. There are meeting and teaching rooms as well as offices in connection with both churches.

The position is 37 hours per week.

We are seeking a welcoming and helpful person with a positive relationship to the Church of Denmark. A person who is able to engage positively in collaboration with the parish council, priests and the parish's other staff groups, and who at the same time can work independently with the various tasks, which among other things include church service during worship services and religious ceremonies, servicing at meetings and events, preparation of rooms and cleaning. Participation in events outside the churches may occasionally occur.

It is a key prerequisite for performing the work that you can provide a car.

When employed, a criminal record certificate and a child welfare certificate will be sought.

Employment occurs via Greve Parish Council located at Skoleholmen 9, 2670 Greve.

The appointment is covered by the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees' Organizations (OAO-S) and the Organizational Agreement for church officers with core duties such as churchwarden or sexton, concluded between the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs and the Danish Church Wardens Association and the accompanying protocol for churchwardens. The agreements can be viewed at www.folkekirkenspersonale.dk .

Current civil servant churchwardens have the right to preserve their civil servant status when employed with a direct transfer. In that case, the position must be classified.

For non-trained churchwardens it is a condition that the mandatory 5 weeks of training for churchwardens are completed within 2 years after the start of employment.

The first 3 months of employment are considered probationary.

The annual salary is agreed within the range 324,667 DKK – 408,841 DKK (current currency).

There is a on-call commitment attached to the position. The on-call allowance amounts to 33,231 DKK per year (current currency).

OK allowance of 1,401 DKK (current currency).

An agreement on placement within the pay scale is made between the parish council and the Danish Church Wardens Association.

For more information about the position, please contact Erik Jørgensen at tel. 20 12 73 65.

Applications with relevant attachments should be sent to Greve Parish by email at: [email protected] .

The application must be received by the parish council no later than 31.10.2026 at 12:00.

Hiring interviews are expected to take place in week 47.

The parish council can inform that references will be obtained.
