About the position

Trinitatis Church in Copenhagen is seeking a dedicated and collaborative sexton who will help ensure that the execution of the church's many activities takes place efficiently and in a structured manner.

You will become part of a good and well-functioning collegial community in a staff group characterized by cooperation and respect. Your task will be to carry out sexton duties in a team of experienced sextons, so that things run smoothly and we achieve everything.

Duties

Your tasks include, among other things

  • Carrying out sexton duties during services and ecclesiastical ceremonies at Trinitatis Church, including altar service one to two Sundays per month.
  • Participation in cleaning and maintenance of the church and parish house so that everything appears clean and presentable.
  • Participation in meeting activities and other events in the parish.
  • Operation of the church's technical systems in connection with the running of the church and its activities.
  • Carrying out practical tasks with setting up and taking down chairs, benches and podiums as well as other relevant furniture and decorations.

We are looking for a person who

  • Is positive, approachable and service-minded – also towards many different people.
  • Has flair for handling technical tasks (sound systems, heating systems, etc.).
  • Is willing to take on all tasks, including practical ones, such as cleaning.
  • Has good collaboration skills and will actively contribute to a good working environment.
  • Is flexible and adaptable – both in tasks and working hours.

About Trinitatis Church

Trinitatis Church is a vibrant city church with deep historical roots, built as a university church in the 17th century and today a parish church with a rich program of services, concerts and culture. The church forms together with the Observatory and the Round Tower Library Hall an architectural and spiritual complex where faith, science and art meet. Every year thousands participate in the church's events, from high services and other church acts to concerts, summer school, lectures and communal meals. In particular, Trinitatis Church is known for a rich musical life at a high professional level.

Employment terms

The working hours are 25 hours per week with day, evening and weekend work.

The agreements can be viewed on the Folkekirken Intranet.

Current civil servant sextons have the right to preserve their civil servant status upon appointment with direct transfer. In such a case, the position must be classified.

It is a condition that the mandatory 5 weeks of training for sextons is completed within 2 years after the start of employment.
