At STU Magleby we are looking for a staff member for our Byg & Drift-linje , who can combine practical craftsmanship with pedagogical understanding and the desire to work with young people who need support to find their path in education, work and adult life. The Byg & Drift-linjen works with maintenance of buildings and outdoor areas, smaller construction projects and practical teaching.

About the job

You will be part of an occupation-oriented STU offering, where learning happens through practice, relationships and meaningful work tasks. Together with the young people you should create visible results and at the same time develop their professional, personal and social competencies. STU Magleby works purposefully to develop each young person’s resources, well-being and opportunities for future employment.

Your tasks will include

• Practical teaching and training in craft tasks.
• Maintenance of buildings and outdoor areas.
• Planning and execution of smaller construction and operations projects.
• Motivation and support of young people in their learning and development process.
• Translating craft knowledge into learning that makes sense in practice.
• Contributing to a safe, clear and developmental learning environment.

• Have a craft background, preferably within construction, operations or maintenance.
• Have your hands well and can teach from your practice.
• Thrive in working closely with young people with different prerequisites.
• Are patient, relationship-oriented and appreciative in your approach.
• Believe that all young people have potential and can develop through experiences of success.
• See opportunities rather than limitations.

Pedagogical experience is an advantage, but not a requirement. The most important is that you can create relationships and inspire young people to believe in their own abilities.
