Construction engineer / project manager for roads, building developments and other construction projects within the infrastructure sector

Do you want to help lead the construction of, among other things, new roads and paths, development of building sites and many other construction projects within the infrastructure sector?

Technical and Environment is seeking a new colleague in Team Traffic, Authority and Construction, who will help carry out the construction projects that the team has.

Projects are typically road and path construction, housing and commercial development, climate adaptation projects, renovation of existing urban spaces or establishment of new ones.

The project manager's role is to be involved in the entire process from the preparation of a local plan, for example, to the completion of a construction project. In the planning phase, the project manager participates as a project participant to contribute with professional knowledge to the planning, while the project manager takes over the project when the construction phase is initiated.

About the job

Team Traffic, Authority and Construction handles many different tasks ranging from municipal driving to road authority and construction projects.

Construction projects are managed by a construction group of 4 employees, of which this position is one.

Construction projects vary in size from a smaller project such as an entire development to larger road and trail projects, housing and commercial development projects both within housing development and commercial development.

For most projects we use external consultants. Here your role as a project manager will be to ensure the project's progress, that the work is carried out in the right quality and within the allocated budget. There will be close collaboration with the consultant and an expectation that you participate in relevant construction meetings etc.

In addition to traditional construction projects you will also have to handle tasks within road authority with approval of private communal roads.

We would like to improve our sustainability thinking in our projects, so together with your colleagues you will create a paradigm for how we work with sustainability in construction projects.

Your main tasks

As a construction engineer/project manager you should among other things

• Participate in cross-functional project groups on projects that later become construction projects
• Carry out construction projects of varying size
• Approve private communal roads as road authority
• Contribute to integrating sustainability into all construction projects.
• Assessment of geotechnical conditions in own projects and external projects where the municipality sells building plots

• You participate constructively in cross-disciplinary project groups, where you provide your professional knowledge for the common good
• You are curious about sustainability and new knowledge in general for the benefit of the projects
• You are able to work across disciplines in collaboration with other colleagues in the entire organization
• You help create a good working environment for you and your colleagues

Qualifications

Mandatory requirements

We expect that

• you have a relevant professional education e.g. as an engineer
• you have experience as a construction engineer/project manager within the construction and civil engineering industry
• you have at least some knowledge of geotechnics
• you can create overview and ensure progress in your tasks

Desirable qualifications

• that you have greater knowledge of geotechnics in relation to building and construction projects
• that you have knowledge of programming signals systems
• that you have knowledge of road legislation
• that you have knowledge of GIS

Salary and employment terms

Depending on your education, employment will be in accordance with the National Association of Municipalities' agreement with the relevant organization.

We offer a permanent position of 37 hours per week with start on 1 February 2027.
