Consultant sought for Department of Brain and Nerve Surgery

At the Department of Brain and Nerve Surgery (HNK), Rigshospitalet, there is a department physician position available to be filled on 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

The department handles cranial and peripheral nerve surgery within neurosurgery and we have a strong focus on research, education and development of the neurosurgical treatment. At HNK we work with both specialized teams and with the Behandlings Ansvarlig Læge (BAL) scheme, where each patient has a specialist who is responsible for investigation and treatment.

A substantial part of the department's work concerns acute neurosurgery. The clinical work of the department's physician in this position will be split between the department's acute work and the subspecialty function intracranial tumor surgery . The applicant is also expected to have a broad neurosurgical profile and shall be able to participate in one or more of the department's other specialty teams, for example neurointensive care, hydrocephalus, traumatology, peripheral nerve surgery and/or organ donation. Relevant research qualifications will be prioritized. The position includes on-call duties.

We seek a colleague with broad research experience and an interest in contributing to the department's research activities. Likewise, emphasis is placed on broad teaching experience and interest in education and supervision of junior doctors and other health professionals.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
