Cook sought for a long-term temporary position at a nursing home in Sorø

On behalf of a client (care home) in Sorø, FIRMAVIKAR is seeking an experienced and stable cook for a longer-term temporary position with start already Monday.

This is a production kitchen where you will be responsible for preparing the hot evening meal for the care home's approx. 64 residents as well as staff – total around 75 people.

About the job

Your main tasks will be

• Preparation of today's hot evening meal
• Preparation of birret
• Preparation of various diets
• Preparation of meals for the weekend on Thursdays and Fridays
• Drafting a simple preparation guide for the staff for weekend meals
• Cleaning and tidying the kitchen after production
• Washing of pots, kitchen equipment and other used inventory
• Cleaning of machines and floors

The food must be ready no later than 17.00, when the staff come to collect it.

Start and working hours

Start: Monday 5 October 2026

Monday and Tuesday there will be another cook present who will help with introduction to the kitchen, routines and tasks.

The first days the working hours will be approx. 08.00–16.00 .

Thereafter the normal working hours will be approx. 10.30–18.00 .

Period

The temporary position is expected to run through the entire October, with the possibility of extension into November.

We expect that you

• Are trained as a chef or have solid experience in a professional kitchen
• Have experience producing food for many people
• Can work independently and in a structured way
• Have understanding of special diets and dieters
• Have a focus on hygiene and cleaning
• Are stable and responsible
• Can step into the role at short notice

Experience from care homes, institutions, canteens, large-scale kitchens or similar would be an advantage.
