Creative and attentive substitute sought for 8-year-old Valentin - Hørsholm

Do you like creative activities, fun competitions and cozy moments with children?

Then perhaps you should be an important part of Valentin's daily life and give him safe, fun and engaging experiences.

What is the job about?

Valentin is 8 years old and a happy, loving and curious boy with infantile autism. He loves 1:1 contact, creative activities, animals, games and fun. The family is looking for a stable and engaged substitute who can be with Valentin for a few hours a week, so the parents can occasionally do activities with the rest of the family’s children.

You will mainly be at home with Valentin or do small cozy activities in the local area.

You should help with things such as

• Pick Valentin up from the bus stop near home
• Do creative activities such as drawing, playdough, puzzles and painting projects
• Play with animal figures, ball games or small competitions and games
• Go for walks to the playground or feed ducks by the river
• Create structure, safety and cozy togetherness
• Help Valentin shift focus if he becomes frustrated or overstimulated
• Be active and contribute ideas for activities

The position is 3-4 hours per week.

Hours are agreed with the family, preferably on a fixed weekday/afternoon each week, with the possibility of some weekend days.

We are looking for you who

• Want to create a safe and stable relationship over a longer period
• Are calm, caring and at the same time can be active and playful
• Have an interest in children with autism or familiarity with the area
• Can communicate in English, as Valentin mainly speaks English
• Can be clear and establish boundaries in a positive way
• Are proactive and come prepared with ideas for activities
• Have the energy to keep up with a fast-moving boy

It is not a requirement to have experience with autism, but it is important that you are curious to understand Valentin's needs and meet him with patience, humor and presence.
