About the job

Cross-sectoral coordinator in PPR sought for work on school absenteeism and lost earnings

Pædagogisk Psykologisk Rådgivning in Favrskov Municipality is seeking a professionally strong and relationally competent cross-sectoral coordinator who can create coherence and forward movement in complex processes involving children and young people with school absenteeism, reduced schooling or needs for special support measures.

The position is placed in PPR and established as a fixed-term project position for 1½ years. The position shall expand the existing cross-sectoral coordinator function with particular focus on new applications for lost earnings due to school absenteeism, early intervention and quality in follow-up.

The current coordinator function primarily works with ongoing approvals of lost earnings in the general sector, especially in processes characterized by school absenteeism, reduced schooling and distress. Experiences indicate that the function can strengthen the common direction between family, school, PPR and the authorities and contribute to clearer responsibility, better coordination and more systematic follow-up.

As the new cross-sectoral coordinator you will have particular responsibility for handling initiatives in new applications for lost earnings and concerns about a child’s schooling and well-being.

The position is fixed-term because it is tied to an expansion and testing of the coordinator function. During the project period, experiences and data must be collected about the function’s significance, division of labour, results and resource consumption. On that basis, the long-term organization and any future need for the function will be clarified. There is thus no pre-determined decision to permanently continue the position.

Your tasks

As a cross-sectoral coordinator you will work across school, home, PPR and the authority sector and contribute to children, families and professionals having a coherent process with progression in school attendance.

Your tasks will include

  • to create a cross-sector overview for new applications for lost earnings due to school absenteeism
  • to ensure professional dialogue with the family, school, PPR, authorities and other relevant professionals
  • to support that relevant school interventions, support needs and need for documentation are identified and addressed
  • to follow cases with early school absenteeism, reduced attendance or lost earnings related to after-school care or club
  • to contribute to concrete escalation and follow-up plans among the involved parties
  • to participate in case meetings as well as network and follow-up meetings
  • to coordinate roles, tasks and agreements between the involved professionals
  • to support progress and coherence between school interventions and authority work.

You should also

  • prepare and arrange follow-ups in cases where the follow-up has been exceeded, or where school agreements, action plans or relevant PPR clarifications are unclear
  • conduct parts of the follow-up regarding school absenteeism and schooling
  • draft written material that can be included in the authority's further case handling and follow-up
  • contribute to standardized workflows and relevant tools
  • support data collection and dissemination of experiences from the effort.

A coordinating function without authority responsibility

As a cross-sectoral coordinator you do not assume authority responsibility in cases. Your task is to coordinate, facilitate and create progression in the interventions across the involved actors.

The responsible advisor retains responsibility for the authoritative assessment, decision and filing. It is therefore important that you can navigate safely between different professional and organizational perspectives and at the same time be clear about your role and mandate.

We expect that you

  • have a relevant higher education in the pedagogical, psychological, social-work or health-related field
  • have experience with children and youth in vulnerable or complex life situations
  • have knowledge of school absenteeism, reduced schooling and cross-disciplinary support interventions
  • have understanding of the interaction between the school area, PPR and the social authorities area
  • have experience coordinating complex processes with many involved actors
  • can facilitate meetings and professional processes with clear direction and follow-up
  • can translate discussions and assessments into concrete agreements, plans and written summaries
  • communicate precisely and respectfully with children, parents, professionals and leaders
  • work systematically with documentation, agreements and follow-up
  • can work independently and at the same time view close interdisciplinary collaboration as a prerequisite for success.

Your personal and professional competences

We place emphasis on you

  • have strong relation- and collaboration skills
  • can create overview in complex and sometimes stuck processes
  • can maintain the child’s schooling, participation and development opportunities as a common focal point
  • can be clear about responsibility, roles, agreements and next steps
  • are persistent and follow up when several organizations and professionals need to act simultaneously
  • can balance understanding of the family’s situation with a clear focus on the possibilities to create changes in the child’s daily life
  • can handle different professional assessments without losing direction or momentum
  • work analytically, structurally and solution-oriented
  • have good written skills
  • can contribute to learning and development of common workflows across the organization
  • have a driving license, as the tasks will take place at different locations in the municipality.

About the initiative

The cross-sectoral coordinator function has been developed to create greater coherence in cases where a child or young person has school absenteeism, reduced schooling or distress, and where the family simultaneously receives or is applying for lost earnings.

Experience from the existing pilot shows that a clear coordinator function can contribute to shared direction, better coordination, clearer responsibility and more systematic follow-up on school interventions and action plans. At the same time, experiences indicate that some processes can be better handled earlier, before lost earnings become a stable and long-term solution.

The position is an opportunity to help develop a cross-sectoral function in an area where coherence between school, family and authorities is of great importance.

As a coordinator you get both concrete tasks in cases and a development task. You shall, together with relevant managers and professionals, contribute to refining the division of labor, workflows and the

About PPR and the workplace

You will be organizationally placed in PPR, but you will have a broad collaboration interface to schools, the family area, advisers, PPR staff, managers and other relevant professionals.

Work takes place close to the concrete processes and requires you to move between meetings with families and professionals, coordinating tasks, written documentation and development of common workflows.

You will also become part of a professional environment where interdisciplinary collaboration, practice-oriented problem solving and the qualification of interventions for children and young people are central tasks. With this appointment there are three in PPR with this function.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is a fixed-term project position of 37 hours with employment from February 1, 2027 and we will hold interviews on Monday, December 7, 2026.

Salary and terms of employment are set according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local wage formation.

A child and criminal record check will be obtained in connection with any potential appointment.
