Curious and clear ward manager for Aftensol Care Center

Would you like to contribute to building on good practice while creating more structure and common direction at Aftensol? And are you motivated by supporting the staff in daily life, creating room for shared professional reflection and acquiring competencies and resources to work well together for the benefit of our 43 residents? Then you might be our new department head.

At Aftensol you will have an exciting leadership role at a smaller self-governing nursing home, where you will be responsible for daily staff management, professional leadership and operational coordination close to employees and residents. At the same time you will play an important role in the ongoing development of the care center and become part of a close collaboration with the principal, the resource planner and the quality nurse.

Your leadership task

As department head you are close to the daily work of the staff and know the residents' needs and life in the house. You handle the daily personnel management, follow up and are available for sparring and support when leadership or professional clarifications are needed. You also contribute to a good and constructive dialogue with the residents' relatives when needed.

The professional quality is a central part of your leadership task. Together with the quality nurse you support a practice where there is room for professional dialogue and reflection, and where staff observations are discussed and followed up so that help can be adjusted when residents' needs change.

You also have the responsibility to create coherence in daily operations. In close collaboration with the resource planner you work with staffing, continuity and the use of staff competencies, so that resources are used flexibly based on residents' needs.

You work closely with the care home's manager, who has the overall managerial responsibility and who knows the department head role from within. You are part of a close leadership community, where you as department head have an important role as the link between common goals and decisions and the daily practice close to staff and residents.

• can create clear frameworks and at the same time give room for staff's professional assessments and responsibility
• can support professional reflection, learning and development in daily life
• can create followership around shared decisions and stand firm when new working routines must take root
• can look across disciplines, residents' needs, staff competencies and daily operations and prioritize when different considerations must be balanced
• collaborate well across professions and functions and can bring different perspectives and competencies into play

We imagine you are a trained nurse with leadership experience. If you do not already have a diploma in management or an equivalent leadership education, we offer you one.

About Aftensol

Aftensol is a privately operated nursing home in Nørrebro with a service agreement with the City of Copenhagen. We have 43 residents and 45 full-time colleagues spread over five floors, buses right to the door and metro and S-train nearby.

Employment conditions

Salary and terms of employment are set according to qualifications and the applicable collective agreement between the municipality and the relevant professional organization. This is a permanent full-time position with start on December 1, 2026.
