About the job

What if you don’t have to fit into a ready-made position?

At Dalby School we are looking for a teacher for the primary grades who wants to be a class teacher and a Danish teacher - and who at the same time gets the opportunity to influence the rest of their timetable.

Maybe Danish is exactly you.

Perhaps you also have mathematics, music, woodworking/design, physical education, visual arts, English or science/technology in your bag.

Or perhaps you can do something completely different that we didn’t know we needed.

We’d love to hear about that.

At Dalby School we do things a little differently.

A good timetable is not just about making the pieces fit – but about making them fit the people who will stand in it.

Therefore we are flexible in our way of organizing ourselves, and we are not afraid to move things around if it makes more sense for the students – or for the teacher who will work with them every day.

You therefore will not come into a position where everything is decided in advance.

You will come to a school where there is the opportunity to help shape it.

You will come to a school with a strong sense of community around the students

In the primary years you will work closely with both teachers and school pedagogues.

The school pedagogue is an important part of everyday life and follows the class for 15-19 hours a week. This gives us the possibility to create continuity, presence and security around the students – and at the same time be several adults who take responsibility for the class community.

We help each other, we brainstorm with each other and we believe that we become better teachers by not always having to find the solutions alone.

Does that sound like you? Then we would love to hear from you.

About you

We emphasize that you

  • Can create optimal well-being and learning for our students
  • Have the willingness and competence to teach in a differentiated and inclusive way
  • Are a capable class teacher
  • Have good communication skills – both oral and written – and can engage in dialogue with parents and external partners
  • Can participate in close collaboration with the school's other staff

About us

Our staff room is characterized by great openness, good collegial support and presence around the school’s tasks.

We love to laugh together, and we have an appreciative pedagogical approach to all actors at the school.

Dalby School is a 2-3-track school with about 600 students.

We are a development-oriented school where pedagogical and academic engagement are in focus. The school is characterized by a positive spirit, where cooperation and flexibility are a natural part of everyday life.

We perform well

Dalby School’s ambition

  • We ensure that our students at all age levels have the opportunity to realize their full learning potential – both academically and personally
  • We create space and opportunity for learning at a high academic level with a focus on the development of practice-based competencies
  • We place a high value on a safe school environment with close and good cooperation between school and parents

Upcoming focus area at Dalby School

Academic and social well-being has been chosen as the focus area in teaching with the aim that all children learn more.

We want to create teaching that supports students’ autonomy, competence, sense of belonging and sense of meaning – in other words: motivation.

Students should have more influence, as the sense of freedom – e.g. in relation to the order of tasks, choice of workspace and partners – is important.

Therefore all teachers will work with Participation Didactics and The Weekly Schedule Revolution over the next two years. There will be course programs for everyone in the coming school year.

The Weekly Schedule Revolution is designed to accommodate all students’ individual needs and create optimal conditions for their motivation, learning and well-being.

The Participation Didactics is based on three key concepts: learning barriers, options and student perspective. It supports teachers in planning, conducting and evaluating teaching where all students participate. The model reduces learning barriers by giving students options. Everyone works toward the same goal, but in different ways.

The Weekly Schedule Revolution is already in use with some teachers, but next year it will be part of teaching in all classes.

We combine academic achievement and formation so that students develop both competencies, responsibility and discernment. And with a basis in MOT we work with well-being, courage and strong communities as the foundation for learning. Therefore we are seeking a teacher who wants to help create a school where both academic and personal development go hand in hand.
