About the job

Are you the one we are looking for? And are we the school you would like to be part of?

Then you may be our upcoming skilled Danish teacher, and we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for a Danish teacher for 1st grade at our fantastic school with wonderful students and good colleagues.

Danish teacher for 1st grade

Are you keen to help give our youngest students a safe, instructive and good start to school life? Then it might be you we are looking for as the Danish teacher for 1st grade at Nyboder School.

As a Danish teacher in our general department you will handle Danish for 1st grade. If you have competencies in other subjects, we are happy to explore possibilities to bring them into play.

In the early years we have a particular focus on creating a safe and inspiring start to school with involved adults, clear frameworks and good relationships. We work closely together to support both the children's academic development and their social well-being.

We place emphasis on clear classroom management and the ability to create safe and good relationships with the students – while also having an eye for their academic development.

You will become part of a committed year group team with teachers and pedagogues from KKFO and will be close to the students in connection with theme weeks, home–school cooperation and other activities at the school.

We are looking for someone who wants to be a clear, present and engaged adult around our students, and who wants to help create a school day where the children feel seen, heard and want to learn.

About Nyboder School

Nyboder School is a lively and engaged school in the heart of Copenhagen, where student well-being is high on the agenda. We are proud to have students who thrive, are happy with their school and feel themselves to be an important part of the community.

Nyboder School has about 420 students, of which about 50 students are in our numeracy class stream. We work based on the principle of year-group teaching and collaborate across departments when it makes sense.

We work purposefully to create safe and inclusive learning environments where all children feel they belong. We focus on developing diverse child communities where there is room for difference, and where all children have the opportunity to participate and contribute.

On the school's website you can read more about our objectives, the numeracy class stream and pedagogical principles.

You will become part of an engaged collegial community, where we value professional sparring, collaboration, and a shared approach to the children highly.

Employment terms

The position comprises 37 weekly hours and includes, in addition to teaching hours, team collaboration, department and development meetings and other tasks related to teaching and the school's activities.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement, and background checks and criminal records will be obtained.

City of Copenhagen regards diversity as an asset and therefore encourages everyone regardless of age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnic origin to apply for vacant positions.

Further information

Further information can be obtained from Deputy Principal Thomas Diechmann and School Principal Jens Arnt at 33 66 49 50.
