About the job

Danish teacher with a focus on participation opportunities for early primary and middle grades

Are you passionate about creating development for children in a committed community, then we have the right position for you.

We offer a fixed full-time position and dream of hiring you as soon as possible or no later than 1/1-27 .

Saksild School is beautifully located in the most beautiful nature close to East Jutland's best beach. The school has a close collaboration with the other village schools in Odder Municipality and houses both a special department, school, after-school care (SFO) and junior club. We are a small school with a strong sense of community, with closeness, well-being and a good starting point for getting to know both older and younger pupils.

The manageable size gives short decision paths, and there is close cooperation between students, parents and staff. We are a single-track school with 151 pupils from 0th to 6th grade and are a school in development as the number of children is rising, and within a short time will commence school construction where staff will have a great influence in the building; would you like to join this journey? Saksild School is an attractive school that parents choose, and we experience a group of parents who support the daily life the staff give their children.

About the position

The position primarily includes

  • Danish and English in 3rd and 4th grade
  • History in 3rd and 6th grade
  • Christianity in 3rd grade
  • Shared class-teacher role in both classes

You will be part of a well-functioning team and will share the classes with two experienced colleagues who know the students well. There are fixed team meetings and close collaboration around the students' academic and social development.

We offer a meaningful workday with a focus on both academic quality and well-being. You will become part of a workplace with dedicated staff, where we help each other, pull together, and protect a strong community characterized by high laughter, presence, and job satisfaction.

With us, community, professionalism, and attention to the individual child are fundamental values. At the same time, we are a smaller school where flexibility and cooperation are necessary to create the best solutions for all pupils.

We are looking for you who…

  • Are trained in Danish and English, and we are curious what else you can contribute.
  • We would like you to have experience as an educational supervisor for teacher students, but not a requirement.
  • Have strong relationship skills and meet children with warmth and clarity
  • Have a desire to actively contribute to the school's development
  • Are engaged in both your subjects and the school's pupils and see collaboration as a strength.
  • Are able to create engaging teaching with a focus on all students' participation opportunities and resources
  • Thrive with both independent responsibility and close team collaboration and can translate mutual agreements into strong practice in your own teaching.
  • Can create safety and strong relationships – also when everyday life is challenging.
  • Want to engage in close collaboration with colleagues, management and families and can take responsibility for an extended parent collaboration.
  • See possibilities rather than limitations and are eager to make a difference.
  • Can create engaging teaching with a focus on students' participation opportunities and resources, including inclusion.

Employment: The position is fixed at 37 hours.
